British hatchet piece on E.E., so what else is new?

PED's are more prevalent in U.K. culture than anywhere in the world. just read some of the top roid boards like Professional muscle and T nation where all the top contributors are from the U.K.

As far as keeping it 100 goes, so to speak, no data or facts you have provided gives evidence that fighters of Eastern origin who compete on the world stage and particularly in the US or Western Europe are any dirtier than any other group of fighter.

Which is what people on boxing forum are typically going to be concerned with, not what a 2005 Russian track guy did.

Like Cunningham is talking about today, PEDs are pretty common in the West as well. Also consider your source article mentioned US guy getting caught.

If you want to be relevant, you should provide evidence about relative levels of PED use in professional boxing and not make logically fallacious inferences about the guilt of Eastern origin fighters based on Soviet AM practices and the track program of Russia and Belarus.

Yes, you are right, it is more rife in the US than anywhere else in the world. Boxing is a good example, many top American boxers are thoroughbred cheats.

Shannon Briggs, Shane Mosley, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, Tony Thompson, Andre Berto, Mickey Bey, Brandon Rios, Fernando Vargas, John Molina...and the list goes on and on.

I know right. I'm getting sick of the racism on this forum from a few black, and eastern european supremacists.

Yeah, the stench of thinly-veiled racism around here is pungent. Everybody bleeds red in Boxing.

The people who came here with agendas need to high-tail it back over to Stormfront or wherever. They cannot be perma-banned soon enough.

The bottom line is when money or status is involved, there is motivation for people to cheat.

Trying to smear one group or another is pointless. A poor kid from an Eastern ghetto trying to fight his way out of poverty and a poor kid from a Western ghetto trying to fight his way out of poverty are equally likely to do whatever it takes to get ahead.

The only solution to the PED question in boxing is and has always been improving the cost effectiveness , and application of testing and detection. Period. If you start thinking one "group", any group, is more likely to cheat then you by extension start giving a pass to others. Which is incorrect.

This is just further evidence that doping is a very serious problem in Boxing. The advancements in "Sports Science" have come via chemical avenues as well as physical training protocols over the years.

Cycling was awash with drugs period.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that EVERYONE in the Tour was juicing at one point

According to some, there's nothing on earth worst than Russians doping, yet make excuse after excuse and look the other way when Americans dope.

Lets keep it real, this is plain old COLD WAR PROPAGANDA. The Cold War is over, Eastern block nations were just as guilty of using PED's during the Cold War as were Western nations. Testing for PED's was absolutely primitive from the 90's down all the way to the 50's, it is not logical to say that the Eastern European regions were the only ones that did. It was common for the West to point the finger at the East for doping, they were rival regions after all, what would you expect? But them pointing the finger at the East did not stop PED abuse in the west, which was also common. Steroid abuse in the west became so COMMON, that they came up with the Steroid Act of 1990, and many more drug laws afterwards.

The only nation that FORCED its athletes to take PED's was East Germany. Even today many East German athletes are suing the companies who made the drugs, because it caused them many health problems, since they had to take it TOO early in their life time.

Are you really all that surprised that Track and Field is replete with PED abuse? All of Americas most prominent track stars were on the juice. Many Jamaican track stars today are on the juice. There is this very FAST Jamaican who many are suspecting is on the juice as well :-( Did drug use in American cycling and track and field trickle down to boxing? Since many of the loved Western boxing icons were caught with PED's.

If everyone or mostly everyone is doping, then it is essentially a level playing field and the ones that rise to the top are there because of superior talent/work ethic/manager etc.

U.S and Britain are exactly the same.
