“Manny’s a different fighter now, a different guy,” Roach said. “If he fought Marquez right now, I guarantee you he’d f---ing knock him out in three rounds. I’m telling you, he’s a different guy now. I know that’s a bold statement but he’s a much better fighter than the guy who fought those guys.

I have to agree in saying that the Pac we have seen as of recent has improved, where as Marquez is about the same from when they last fought. Pac's powerful punch will always trouble JMM, close fight or not.

Everyone said the same thing about Pac before their rematch and most people had JMM winning that fight. So Roach can talk all the **** he wants but we'll see what's what when and if they meet up again.

The higher the weight, the stronger Pacquiao gets and the more trouble that causes for JMM. I'd also bank on a stoppage, though not necessarily 3 rounds.

Marquez fighting Pac now is a lose lose situation (except for financially). Marquez has showed defensive liabilities at 135, and has been buzzed by Diaz. Pac would stop him in dominant fashion (though i am not sure about the three rounds scenario), and it would undo the 'unofficial victories' that a lot of fans credit him with.

yep, same thing i said after the 1st fight, Pac's only going to get better as he moves up in weight, where as JMM has already peaked, i know he's a great fighter, and he had a very razor close fight with Pac but........this is the truth, not many can not only carry there power moving up as much as Manny, but increase it as well, not to mention how he's improved technically as well

after the fight with Floyd, JMM should try and rule his division with an iron fist, and focus on building his resume like that, i think it would be much smarter to be honest

Of course he would, Marquez is a FW/SFW, he did the best he could at 130 which IMO and according to most experts was enough to pull it off vs. Pacquiao. At LW, where he was pushed back by Diaz, it'd be hard to see him repeating the same performance. At LWW, Pac would stop the career featherweight. At 144, he'd stop him early.

Marquez is a natural featherweight who never grew with age. Shame on the officials he didn't get the decision in the 2nd fight. But that was now over a year ago. He'll make a few millions vs. Floyd and hopefully retire. We all know it's a BS fight and he did the best vs. PacMan since Morales. His performances tell us more than his fight results.

the last time i read a comment about this was after the oscar fight and roach said that with the way pac was fighting, they think that pac would eventually get marquez this time. now, this is a more bold prediction but he could have sensed that pac really had improved his power at 140 and this could turn the tide in their favor.

Freddie is a smart lil' ****er..
he know's how to play mind games with people.
Comes off as a 4-eyed push over type of a guy, But he defo has a mean streak in him.

Makes you think how weight drained Manny was making those lower weight limit's.
(If even, Don't know... Maybe some Pac fan's might know?)

Roach is defo getting ahead of himself a bit, But he is coming off a contact high from sat. So I can't blame him.

On one side you have Roach saying, "Fight DLH! He can't pull the trigger" "You'll stop Hatton in 3 rounds" etc.

Then you have Nacho saying "Let's go to Indonesia and fight Chris John." or "Oscar, let's try this deer meat diet"

    Who's got the better team?

Marquez deserves all respect and I do respect the hell out of him, but he has been managed like Enron...

Pacquiao is lethal at 140 the way it looks. His power, his punch resistance, his speed, his timing, his tactical mastery; all looking better than they ever have. Marquez would be in for a hellacious encounter.

That is a bold statement all right but Roach may very well be right. Pac improved tremendously over the last couple of fights, he's just incredible.
