Just putting that out there, in a pure submission grappling match at ADCC Hughes went up against Almeida and won on points. Granted it was 10 years ago, but Hughes has improved his sub game immensely since then. Beat Serra, Destroyed Renzo, and beat Almeida in grappling; now has the possibility to beat him in MMA. Hughes is Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu's nightmare apparently.
This has as much relevence to this fight as Nelson's grappling match with Frank Mir would have if they ever fought in the future. Interesting to watch, but not realy significant.

Agree, more of a storyline than anything. I'm not seriously suggesting that a grappling match 10 years ago is going to be a real factor, just that it adds a nice story with the Serra and Renzo pieces. It does show that Hughes has always been a well rounded grappler though.
