According to Peter Fury's twitter they want Hughie to fight Thomson on Haye v Tyson undercard.

    ****

Edit: Thompson says it wasn't a serious offer and he wasn't happy about the article about the so-called offer, saying to "@peterfury @hughiefury @Tyson_Fury this is a f**king lie stop printing this s**t!"

Far too big of a step up. I've heard Peter mention previously Gregory Tony. That would be a good step up against a very beatable chap. Even his conqueror Richard Towers would be an easy nights work for Fury.

Thompson is too seasoned for Hughie, why the big rush with him he is only 18 I know that he would like to beat mike tysons record of the youngest heavyweight to win a world title but the wrong fight for him at this stage of his career could be disastrous

Hughie is strong as a bull despite only being 18. I'd pick him over Thompson definitely.

2/3 years down the line, then stick him in with Thompson perhaps. Would be a terrible idea to do that right now.

I rate Hughie, there is no rush with him as he's only 18. Beating the types of opponent he currently has means he is no where near ready to step in with the likes of Thompson.

Tony Thompson is the best HW the yanks have.

Thompson I feel is being underated, he lost in a 4 rounder earlier in his career and his other two defeats were to Waldimir, no disgrace there

Thompson is criminally underrated, good fighter.

Watching Hughie's last fight his lack of foot movement was shocking. Was amazed to think he'd won an amateur world title.

He has absolutely no chance vs Thompson at this stage of his career.

I don't believe he's the best Yank, I'd pick Wilder, Jennings, Scott, Cunningham to beat him.

I'm not saying he's **** because he clearly isn't, however I think the Price double is skewing opinion. Price's horrendous flaws play perfectly into Thompson's game whereas Hughie would feel at ease with his style.

Hughie would be in an insanely intense camp, sparring Tyson in proper beast mode would more than prepare him for Thompson. He doesn't have the flaws of Price, he's quite similar to Thompson but fitter, younger and more fire in his belly. He doesn't have vulnerabilities that Thompson could pounce upon. Thompson is perfect for Hughie no matter the difference in experience.

Sorry, but what the **** are you basing this on? Hughie beating a bunch of bums?

Of course not, that would be pretty absurd don't you think. I've seen Hughie enough in the ams and spars to know he can beat Thompson. I implore everyone to not underestimate Hughie's talent because he will prove you wrong. The kid is perhaps the most talented HW we've had for many a year, he's levels above Tyson who is on the cusp of elite.

People pay far too much attention to resumes sometimes and don't focus on the most important facet, that of ability. Hughies ability is through the roof, trust me.

Can't see this happening. Hughie needs a Rogan level opponent soon though.
