To be fair he got a draw with Parker in my opinion and was looking like he had it in the bag until Parker won the last 2 rounds to pull it back

If it was a flyweight bout you could comfortably argue that Hughie outboxed Parker.

But heavyweight boxing is judged differently these days.

Hughie lost a wide lopsided UD to Parker turning in one of the most negative and devoid of attacking performances I have ever seen of a HW challenger.

He then has the cheek with his joke of a promoter afterwards to scream a robbery. My card was 118-112 to Parker.

If anyone was attempting a robbery it was Hughie. Attempting to take a world champions belt based on running away and throwing a pitter patter non scoring butter jab is robbery.

No desire to ever see him fight again unless he radically transforms and learns how to attack.

He is not world level and never will be in my opinion. At HW knock out power and attacking intent are of great importance to building yourself up. No one realistically wants to watch a completely defensive HW like that. People want to see knockouts at HW.
    Hughie doesn’t sell.

Hugie looked kinda helpless against Parker. He didn't know what to do and didn't have an answer to Parker's attacks. We'll see how AJ deals with Parker. If he blows him out of the ring it also tells us how mediocre Hugie really is.

Hughie lost the fight with Parker, it was not even close! It's time for Hughie to fight another fight and this time be impressive!

Watch the fight again with the biased commentary switched off and you will see for yourself how ridiculous that claim is.

I don’t think I had the commentary on. Parker was terrible. Fury toyed with him. Ok the punches weren’t effective but he was clearly in control. Parker isn’t getting points for ineffective aggression from me.

    Awful to watch

    Better suited to the amateurs

Needs to work on offence and power which I think he knows since the Parker fight

Sexton is the perfect comeback opponent, he could’ve fought a couple of nobodies so fair play to him

How I see shades of Ali depends on what mood I'm in. At the time of the Parker fight I felt pretty angry with Hughie. There's a bit of me (actually a lot of me) that feels for a PPV heavyweight fighter it just isn't good enough to prance around the ring in a skirt actively running from trading - a bit of me that feels entertainment actually matters a lot. Then there's another part that recognises there are rules to the game, hit and don't get hit etc. I start to feel Hughie is worthy of support...
Well, fk that second part. No way am I giong to pay even one shiny pound to watch Fury again. Negative, displeasing style and no power. I'm afraid without having an equalizer then at heavyweight I find it all a bit tedious.

I think he has world class skills but he wasn't able to put it together when it counted. He came in with totally the wrong strategy vs Parker, he thought he could steal the title just because the fight was in the UK and could get away with doing just enough to win. He was clearly wrong, a similar tactic worked vs Wlad with his cousin but Parker was never going to be as passive and was aggressive enough and busy enough to pull out a close win.

Fury is young and is yet to probably peak but he has to learn from his previous mistakes. He can't just steal rounds, he must impose himself and take a belt if he ever gets another shot.
