Joking aside, he'd be an interesting addition to the world scene, ugly style at times, but when he decides to commit, he does have some pop.
You'd hope that after 3 fights last year, there will be a gradual step up in opponents soon. He's mixed at world level. Just how much does he want it?

Hughie The Skirt Fury is fighting Dan Garber (currently #507 on boxrec) on Friday.

    The world will be watching.

Two words. Joe. Bugner. Hughie likely goes the distance with most and surprises some. But you'd maybe rather watch him paint a house or mow a lawn....

Yeah he's a good fighter, hopefully we at least get to see him in some fights against top 15 opposition again. It'll be interesting to see. He's been better to watch as well in his most recent fights.

Good to see the Boxing Skirt Sector out in force backing their man.

Zero progress in career since the tame points defeat to Joey 12 and I expect that trend to continue giving his next fight is against the 39 year old Danny Garbage.

Ain't it entertaining how lots of people see Joey as the new contender, some even tip him over Usyk, and yeah, yeah, he has improved hugely. But many felt Hughie beat him....

Improved hugely? What, cause he outpointed two geriatric men who were knocked out in about five rounds in their following bouts? Or are you giving him credit for beating Bakole who was as far as a hooded seal, hadn't trained, and hadn’t slept?

Nope, I'm not on the Parker hype train man. I think Dubois would have stopped him, and I think Usyk wins every round against him. But yes, I do think he has improved hugely since his tentative dance with Hughie. He plants his feet more now, he uses his defense as an offense and his counter punches are sharper and more hurtful than before. I think Andy Lee has got the best from him. But then, it's aways better to make assumptions about other posters, ain't it? Take care man, have a wonderful day.

If he’s planting his feet and so on then why hasn’t he been able to stop anyone (not counting the Bakole’s farce for obvious reasons or the two random opponents) since? After all, Wilder, Massey, and Zhang have all been stopped in quick time since. Joyce was also stopped in quick time. Parker couldn’t even put any of them over for a count. Not even Massey.

Because he is not a powerful puncher? Are you saying he doesn't hold his feet more now? I'm interested in debating this, for me the optics suggest he does, he is in and out quickly but his punches have more authority than they ever have. But he was never a big banger. I might be wrong, I'm no boxing expert, but for me the Parker we have now is the best version we have seen, yet that doesn't make him a world beater, it's just a comment that he has improved...maybe that's not even a high bar. For me, he lost to Ruiz, he lost to Fury, he got battered by Joyce and lost to Whyte and Del, neither of whom were ever 'top' contenders. Joe is a great servant who is having an Indian summer and looks better than ever...but then, he had too to stay relevant, didn't he?

I don’t think he has improved. I’m not really interested in narratives and just look at the performances and the context, which I’ve already outlined. He would’ve been butchered by Dubois and he’s lucky Dubois had to pull out. The overrating of Parker and the narratives around him at present are mind boggling since it’s all on the back of squeezing past two old men who were destroyed by other opponents.

I'm not sure if you have read my replies man. I agree. I think he has become terribly overrated and for the same reasons you state. I do however believe he has improved hugely. It's not a binary thing. I think he HAS improved and he IS overrated. You disagree, and that's cool. It's all opinions, not narratives. I'd argue his performances against Wilder and Zhang, overrated and old as they were showed maturity, poise and much sharper punch placement than he has previously shown, and overrated as they are, both would have sparked the Parker that Joyce battered. No worries regardless man, have a wonderful evening, peace and love always, gbn x

The Parker Joyce annihilated was better than the one who barely threw any punches against Wilder and Zhang. He threw and landed significantly more punches against Joyce but the difference was Joyce wasn’t shot.

Then why did Parker throw and land many more punches against Joyce? Was it because of the elusiveness of Wilder and Zhang? For a discussions board, you don’t seem to like discussing boxing. It’s not an echo chamber, mate. I’m enjoying the discussion.
