He's not crap by any means. He's just not slick enough to compensate for his lack of strength. If he had a proper heavyweight's physique, overall he could be a decent, Whyte/Parker/Kownacki level contender. But he doesn't. So he should either bulk up, or boil down to cruiserwight - he's light and young enough to be able to do that. If he stays at heavyweight, he should work on his game to be more entertaining. Right now his whole marketing value is having a Fury surname. You can't count on it forever. Perhaps he can be better when he ages to late 20's, his body will naturally be bigger - something he desperately needs.
This. He’s the Adrien Broner of the heavyweight division. A durable guy with a big mouth that can give the top 10 fighters 12 rounds of ring activity in prep for their fights against other top fighters. Everybody has a place and Hughie has found his.
Hasn't worked though as he often gets badly cut, which would indicate he's going in with his head.Doesn't rub off with me as His father has spent most of Hughies life in Jail for drug dealing and violence.Truly despicable man imo.
Yeah, we being hearing the same kind of excuses for the last 4, 5 years now. 'He's only 20' 'He's only 21' 'He's only 22' 'He's only 23' Now it's 'He's only 24' You would've thought by now that the penny would have dropped and people would realise that he just not that good. Not good enough to step up a level when he has to. European and British level is about as good as it's going to get for him.
Most cruiserweights are 210-215 lbs on fight night. Hughie was 218 vs Peter. He could be a top cruiserweight. I think he doesn't consider that because 200 is not a top division in the UK lately. Fury vs Briedis or Okolie would be a proper war.
i think fury is bigger than that, also hes 6'6. and probably bigger than okolie. it would be hard for him to get 200lbs, boxers shouldnever boil down, especially a weakling like hughie,
That would be a funny fight. Green didn't take anything from anyone though and would try going out on his shield ,I have inside stories on that guy too out of the ring after he retired...lol.,I think Hughie would lose that one as well though, hes not the finished article and his father is banking on gained experience now taking L's and getting to the top later, which in all likelihood is a fantasy but in reality its actually a good plan bc its his only chance .and will collect some good paydays on DAZN, dont expect him to see any boring fighter, i suggested Guido Vianello ,im interested style wise in that one but its also another potential L for Fury and then hes really hurt his marketability.
He is awful to watch - glad Povetkin took this one. Hopefully Fury can slide even further down the undercard where he belongs.
For the physique he has (absolutely not juiced) hes not a bad fighter, but too defensive, seen attacking few during the match.
