Yes and mentally it will happen again.In Hugies case he got badly cut a few times,one thing being punched but clashes of heads is a horrible thing and I really think that's played its part.

 

He's not a joke, he's just too risk adverse because he doesn't possess any type of money punch. At all. So I see why he boxes like he does, he knows it, as does his Dad. It's kind of a lot to ask a man to go out on his shield, when he doesn't even have a sword.

When you haven't got that go-to shot, all you've got is a jab and some movement, and that's not gonna get you anywhere once you go above domestic level.

The problem for Hughie is that his fights are generally dull, so if he's not winning there's really no market for him apart from his name, so he'll drop down the card sharpish. I was at the fight and by the 4th round everyone was taking the chance to go and have a pint or a chat and were paying scant attention to the ring, as it was pretty clear that we were gonna get 12 rounds of the same turgid fare. Apart from one lad who bellowed 'Shades of Ali' sarcastically on the rare occasion Hughie threw a punch other than a jab.
