This could be a potential domestic match-up with Hughie signing for Matchroom. How would this fight go if we're basing it on the David Price who just fought Allen and didn't seem to gas or look as nervous/tentative?
Don't get this Hughie meme at all. He is a confirmed joint stinker. There's only room for so many pitter-patter "elusive" gangly HW's and his cousin has that niche sewn up nicely.
I suspect Shades of Ali would wear out Price eventually. But not totally convinced. Price won't lose too much nervous energy as he knows even his chin should be ok against Hughie's pitter patter "punches". I can see Price tagging Fury early on with of of his upper cuts. Actually could be an interesting fight (as much as any Hughie fight is interesting).
Price knocks him out. As a Price fan it’s the fight I want to see, I genuinely see it as the lowest risk against a fighter who people know.
Very possible Hughie turns up and gives him a pasting like he did Sexton. Cannot see Price winning by KO at all. And that's from someone who likes big Pricey and doesn't get the Hughie hype.
Nobody has ever knocked out or stopped Hughie, that includes Parker and Pulev. Hughie is a hard lad and certainly more durable than Price, fitter too, power won't be a factor in this fight, Hughie would move long enough to wear Price down I think. Once Price is tired he's there for the taking, I'll never forget the ridiculous scenes in the Hammer fight where he was hanging over the ropes, facing the crowd and gasping for air, I've never seen anything quite like it. Yes. Say what you like about Hughie, he ain't no Dave Allen. He'll land punches on Pricey and use his feet to make Dave work. Subsequently Price will gas and Hughie takes him out. When Pricey gasses anyone can stop him. Allen was so poor Pricey cruised for ten rounds. Not happening against Hughie.
Comedy gold but Id give Price a fair shot after the Allen win. Hughies physical pressure is also pure ****.
This is stylistically one of the worst fights for Price. I'm totally shocked that people think Price could win, especially by KO. Hughie is elusive as hell. Parker has way better hand speed than Price and couldn't land flush at all over 12 rounds. Pulev has a far better jab than Price and whilst he beat Hughie clearly, he never looked close to knocking Hughie out. Hughie is never in a million years going to be caught flush by a Price right hand, he's too elusive and Price is shot-shy against technical fighters. He only let his hands go against Allen because Dave Allen is a slow-moving punchbag and was offering zero offence. Hughie has demonstrated that he has a good chin, he can move for fun over the distance and he knocked Sam Sexton out with a short straight right hand: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...h-ko-of-the-year-so-far.615808/#post-19434622 Hughie's power is very underrated. Add the final element to the mix: Price's stamina and this prospective fight does not end well for Pricey. Hughie wins easy on points or by KO if he forces it. Having said all the above, it's a very good fight on paper, a logical next fight for both and I would love to see it. Two true British fighting men in the ring, two pleasant well-mannered nice guys. Great fight.
