Would be great and Hunter is ranked #12 by the WBC. But, personally speaking, I want to see Fury opt for a softer touch for this tune up because I don't want anything to jeopardize the undisputed fight with Usyk for all the marbles in the first quarter of next year, even more so because it's also a battle for GOAT status too.

A proper champion should not have a soft touch, let alone one after another, and Fury resume is full of bums. He will never be in the GOAT status range. Neither Usyk to be fair, even though i'm a fan. Not in HW at least.

I agree in principal but I really want to see the undisputed fight and I'd rather Fury just wait until Feb or March for Usyk. I don't want anything to jeopardize it whatsoever

Strongly disagree with this. As it currently stands both are GOAT 1a and GOAT 1b. The winner will be the undisputed GOAT and that's a factual fact

Is there any guarantee that Fury will actually fight Usyk in February/March???

It could be Charr 2 or so.

As far as the GOAT status i believe Fury has a chance in the past, if he wasn't banned/retired/mental/etc, and actually fought the decent fighters in this and previous era. For example like Haye, Povetkin, Pulev, Joyce, Ruiz, Parker, Joyce, or at least most of them. He really had an opportunity, but wasted his career and outside of Klitschko and Wilder fight bums after bums.
Currently there is very decent fights, and is inactive since an easy fight in April.
Zero chance to even be consider as top 10 let alone goat. Same for Usyk for different reasons.

Agreed, it's not like he's fighting 3-4 times per year like past champions, he's fought once per year the last two years, he should fight the best available. He's experienced enough and at a level where he shouldn't need a soft touch, if anything that's more likely to lead to an upset if he under prepares for an opponent who he overlooks.

Yeah and especially when the division is so stacked and there is so much solid fights to be made.
AJ, Usyk, Joyce, Ruiz, Parker, Hrgovic, Zhang, Bakole, Sanchez, Dubois, Makhmudov, even guys like Kossobutskiy, Hunter and Yoka are 150x better than Charr.

    Usyk's word is his bond

It's all subjective at the end if the day

Some feel Fury is the GOAT

And some feel Usyk is and to be fair Usyk is very feel
