See, yes, McDermott would be a head-turner for this stage of his development or even next year. That would be a worthwhile test from which he could actually learn.

McPhilbin will teach him that sometimes you run into pain in the ass fouling spoilers. That could just as easily be put into an email.

 

Mcphilbin from a spectacle point of view isn't great. I'd just keep getting Hughie out regularly at this point and if he knocks people out all the better.

 

A Spoiler but capable fighter who has the guts to get in there.

Don't see the problem with this fight whatsoever. At this stage, there wanting him to gain experience and continue to grow as a pro. Mcphilbin is a notorious spoiler, yeah he's fought at cruiserweight but he will literally just look to turn up and spoil. Hughie will face people later on in his career who will perhaps look to spoil for a few rounds, make things rough etc so it does make sense for his development.

People need a reality check and be realistic, he's only a teenager that's only just stepped up to the big ranks this year.

He's taking the right steps towards doing so? Kiko was the next step up, but now he's joined BoxNation his career will stagnate. If he's still fighting nobodies and making those sorts of claims in the next year of course I'll criticise him.
