I know I risk making myself look like a tit here, but I don't know much about Tyson's uncle Hughie and was hoping some of you could answer some points. What I would like to know is how well established is he? Does he train other pros or is it just really Tyson? What's the general opinion on his ability as a trainer? The reason I'm wondering is that after last night and the masses of criticism about Fury, I feel that if his training was better we might see more from him. I don't whether that's down to Tyson or Hughie and I don't want to start saying that a trainer is the problem without knowing enough about him. Cheers folks
Srry mate. I don't know nothing about Hughie unfortunately. I will say this though, Fury made a big mistake going to the Collyhurst gym to train for this. It's well documented (Even by the 'Damian Hughes' on here) that Brian hughes has little to do with day to day training of his boxers these days and that it is Pat Barrett who does most of the training. With Pat Barrett now in jail why would Fury have decided to go there ???
I was wondering why he wasn't in Quigg's corner last time out. Arrested again :verysad He needs to sort it out.
It was John I believe but i'm not arsed about the Paul Butlin comments, they're were fair enough praising a man who'd helped them. But before he mentioned Butlin he shouted somebody was a disgrace. Did anybody catch who he was talking about ??? :yep
Don't know mate but was at a BBQ today and a friend who has a friend who knows Brian Hughes said that Barratt had been sent down (not the most direct source I know!!). I asked whether he was getting confused over the last time that Pat went down but he was clear that it had happened over the last week or so. TBH I was hoping to come on here today and "break the news" but I see Dan has beat me too it!!!atsch
It's a shame. He's been working the corners for years and seems to be a well respected and promising trainer in the sport, so hopefully he isn't inside too long. Similar to Eamonn Magee in that respect. I just hope it doesn't have too much of an impact on Scott Quigg's progress.
