An impressive specimen. I look forward to monitoring his progress. How good can this young talent become?
Looks good so far been watching him from the start and hes only 19 things are looking good for him hope he goes far
It seems to be politically correct on this forum to support Hughie Fury and claim he has a bright future. Personally I think he lacks the punching power to ever do anything meaningfull in the heavyweight division. Oh and he's british, so he probably has a glass jaw aswell. And he's tubby. Tubbytribbers do not become champions.
lol what a troll your danish british fighters are far better than danes so STFU hughie fury is a top talent deal with it
No doubt he's a talent & at only 19, with constant top sparring with Tyson whenever he wants... He has it good! But going back to his power, I know someone who sparred with Hughie and he actually said he was surprised at how hard he hit... because he expected him to hit much harder.
It means jack ****, Larry Holmes did not hit hard, did not stop him being champ for 7 years. Also Hughie is 19 he still has more growing to do he will likely keep getting stronger.
Please do not compare the great Larry Holmes to Hughie Fury. First off all Larry holmes had a near 60% KO ratio against world class opponents, and that KO ratio includes his long range of past prime fights. Untill the Tyson Fight, he had a 69.4% Ko ratio, including his two losses against Spinks. Hughie Fury on the other hand has a measly KO% of 54.55 against complete bums, with British referees. And one of those "knockouts" was due to his opponent claiming a shoulder injury in round 1. Larry Holmes was no Mike Tyson, but he was fast, and could punch with explosive power and stopped a majority of his opponents. Not to mention his fast and powerfull GOAT jab. You couldn't just walk all over a prime Larry Holmes. Hughie on the other hand, is a slow featherfisted brit, with almost no explosive power. When or if he faces world class opponents, his lack of power is going to be a problem. And let's not pretend Hughie has even an ounce of the talent that Holmes had.
What a storm in a teacup, I was not comparing them but giving an example that power is not everything. I'd put Larry Holmes in my top three heavies of all time. Also it's very harsh to judge Hughie so harshly at 19, it's not easy in such short fights to get the knock out every time.
