Hughie was poorly managed, has never beaten a top 50 HW and they put him in with 2 top 10 HWs in Parker and Pulev. Put Hughie against Kuzmin or Price next and move on from there.

Anyone think Hughie will end up developing Matchroom-like power in his punches after this move??

Think it will be him in a run out on this card personally. Then Price to follow

Hughie should have moved ages ago. Mick is a joke and was holding him back, though I’d like to think he’s still involved somewhere

Sounds like you’re just upset for Mick. Hughie and Peter have no time for that and are doing what’s best for the fighter since Matchroom have loads of fighters at his current level, should have done it ages ago.

Fingers crossed for a good opponent on his debut, I don’t want some ‘it’s his first fight under matchroom so needs to be eased in’ rubbish. Those last two opponents were abismal

I'm happy for Hughie because his career was going nowhere. At worst now we'll see him in intriguing British matchups and at best Eddie can get him big fights.

This signing makes me think they’ll build towards Price/Fury this Autumn. Allen looks to be on the way out of Matchroom and with Whyte’s future up in the air it’s a sensible signing.

That said, Mick now has no one of note so his Channel 5 deal must be jeopardy. Although the last card on Channel 5 was terrible the actual quality of competitive fights on the channel hasn’t been too bad. If I’m Channel 5 I offer MTK a TV deal with Mick’s fighters also on the undercards.

Funny how these "real fighting men" backtrack on everything they say when it comes down to money

So hughie was supposed to stay with Mick and go nowhere? They don’t have to like each other , it’s business.

Really pleased with this. Hughie’s career has been a car crash with Mick behind the wheel. Although I’m surprised he didn’t go with Queensbury; Peter really has severed ties with Tyson.

I expect an opponent like Helenius to kick things off.

I was thinking about this. But that’s gypos for you, they’re hardly the most moralistic people. Will do absolutely anything for a couple of quid.
