Hughie 'Skirt' Fury v Christian Hammer, Marshall v Muzeya, Eubank Jr v Awidijan RBR (free undercard)

I take it this was significantly worse than the average Channel 5 card? I binned off Sky around a year ago.

 

A real stinker

 

Just the reality that we are now watching fronts of fronts on our screens.

 

I really do think Sky/Boxxer need to win a few purse bids for competitive 50/50 regional/English/British Title fights. At least try and put on well matched fights on these cards.

With the exception of Mick, no other UK promoter seems to have a decent matchmaker at the moment.

 

Savannah Marshall did her job and she picked her shots very well and the projected match with Shields should be good. Hughie Fury looked better but the ending was a bit of a letdown. Eubank needs to get a wiggle on ,fighting opponents like that will not get him a World championship hard to believe he is 32 and still fighting guys of this level. The rest of the bill seemed pretty dire. Boxxer have a way to go .

 

Just watched the new Bond film. Zero chance this card was worse than what I had to sit through.

 

I think Hughie Fury done well. Too many being too hard on him on here. Isnt a maddive luncher buy hits hard enough to gain respect. Hammer is a decent Euro level fighter and Hughie won every round and Hammer didnt want anymore after 5 rounds.

The way Fury switched from orthodox to southpaw was very good.

 

Us boxing fans accept tripe nowadays and that's a fact..Good god macklin and froch tried so hard to talk shite over the dross

 

I thought he came across alright for a young guy who isn’t used to televised interviews.

Did the talking for Marshall but gave her all the credit, and is doing his job to create a buzz for the Shields fight.

Needs to put on better shows with closer matchmaking, but give him time could come good and be a breath of fresh air to boxing.

 

I think he has a bit of potential myself. At least he doesn't try and take all the limelight like a lot of other promoters who make shows al about them.

 

I keep seeing this same kind of thing on here. How everyone wants to see area/British level 50/50’s instead of whats being given to us on the schedules already announced.

But being realistic, if the standard of what’s being shown on tv now is eliminator for title fights or well established former European/world level stuff, given how poor some of these shows are, imagine the dross that’s kicking around at area/British level.

Area/British level stuff is ok for channel 5/Dave free to air platforms. For the likes of Sky and DAZN it should be much much better than the garbage shown in the last few weeks.

Less than 1 year ago Tony Yoka only beat Christian Hammer on points. The year prior, Ortiz only beat him on points.

Hughie Fury stopped him in 5, and won every minute of every round. That deserves credit.

 

Hughie did okay.
People can't really complain. Hughie's last two performances he actually got stuck in.
