I've been saying this for a couple of months now.

I don't know what to say apart from that I can just tell.

I'm good with psychology and I can just tell everytime this fight is brought up to Warren or the Fury's that they know it's not going ahead. We are 2 and a half weeks away and it's virtually silent. Frank Warren hasn't been mentioning it at all which is very strange considering Hughie is his fighter. He has been mentioning Davis/Walsh more and that's a couple of weeks after this proposed bout.

Assuming you are correct, what reason do you think will be offered up for Hughie's withdrawal?

I have no idea. It will be interesting as it will be painfully obvious that they have sh4t it. I think that's why they are taking this long to announce it.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm very confident this isn't going ahead.

Time will tell. But admittedly it is ticking away.

How do you propose to fix this? You'd assume if they used all judges from the home fighter's country, there could be an argument for bias if they favor him.

So if you bring them in from somewhere else, you now say they're corrupt for accepting the trip to another country. Should they be put up at a crack house instead of a nice hotel and make the judges pay to score the fight rather than be paid?

    What's your solution?

Rules about nationality in big international fights and veto system. I already mentioned that months ago.

Have a the option of a couple of judges and give both boxers the chance to veto 1 or 2 of them. From the remaining ones let the alphabet org(s) in charge pick the officials.
Judges that get veto'd often lose their status for at least a period of time, by being unwanted.
Then bad and overly biased judges will never get a gig (veto'd out by the visiting fighter at the spot), and scoring normalizes.

    I like it.

You just know we would see even more and greater mismatches in the rise of popular prospects, however.

Yep, compensating for the chance he loses against some seasoned gatekeeper without the judges covering for him.
I would gladly trade that for boxing being judged fairly though.

    100% yes.

Just saying there would be some negatives from it, oddly enough. Because boxing is merely business to those who dictate the future events of the sport.

If Hughie isn't confident about taking on Parker then where else can he go? No disrespect to Parker but it would seem he is probably the weakest of the champions right now as far as beat-ability goes, you could argue Wilder's case but he usually gets the KO (albeit against bums). H. Fury should be over the moon to be given this golden opportunity and there really can be no excuses for him if he doesn't take it, I hope this is just paranoia due to the Fury's reputation as I was really looking forward to this fight.

It is the opportunity of a lifetime for Hughie. No denying that. But the big question is is he ready for it?

Too true, there is a huge question mark over Hughie but that is on him for not seeking out the challenges to prepare him for a Parker level opponent. One plus point is that he seems to be healthy finally so if the fight does go ahead the best man will win and there can be no excuses. I favour Fury to win a decision but wouldn't be surprised in the least if he gets overwhelmed and sparked out.

I'll fight Parker for that 1.2 million. I'm 38. 6ft 4. 109kg. I'll be perfect. I might even last 40 secs. But I'll go out swinging like a real man...
