Gday fellas, I’ve just finished watching some of Hugo Garay’s fights and I thought I’d let you know what I think of him and his upcoming fight with Green.

First up, if you were thinkin he’s just going to be another Argentinean cabbie coming over here for a free holiday, then think again, because that couldn’t be further from the truth.

He’s an extremely aggressive fighter who comes forward non-stop and loves to go to the body with a viscous left rip. He’s got fast hands, a decent jab and can punch in combinations.
Both hands have knock out power and nearly every punch he throws is intended to do some damage. Although most of his punches are thrown a bit wide, it’s not like he’s just wingin it hoping to connect, he knows where they are going and rarely misses badly.
His defense is pretty good also, he keeps his hands high and doesn’t get hit as much as you’d think for such an aggressive fighter, and even when he does get caught with a good shot he doesn’t seem too affected and just keeps coming forward.

I think Danny is going to be in for the fight of his life against this fella and going from the 5 fights I’ve seen, including his second fight with Erdei, (which I think he won clearly), I don’t think there’s any doubt that Garay is the better fighter of the two.

In saying that though, I’m not counting Green out of this one at all, I think he’s wanted and needed a fight like this his whole career. Danny’s a born fighter, but I think that has been slowly trained out of him over the last few years in an attempt to make him a ‘boxer’. This fight is going to bring out the mongrel in Danny, Garay will make sure of that and win or lose, I think this will be Greens defining fight.

But anyway, no matter who wins this one, there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a great action fight. It's the best match-up we've seen in Australia for a very long time and I’ll be really surprised if it goes the distance.

Cheers mate. Would you say that Garay is the biggest puncher Danny has come across so far?

He's the real deal, no doubt about that. Can't wait for this fight.

    For sure mate, easily.

Mundine's probably got more 1 punch knockout power when he lands one of those perfectly timed right hands, but Garay has power in every shot and he's trying to knock you out with every shot.

Garay will not **** around in there.

I think Danny wont be able to out brawl or scrap this guy, I reckon he has to use his stiff jab to control the fight.

Not 100% sure how Garay's chin will take Danny's power but if it does, this is a long night for Green.

i love all this crap about green being a brawler only. he is a very very underated boxer. why get hit if you don't need too? he was destroying a triple world amateur champion at the olympics before breaking his hand, surely that confirms he has had boxing ability for some time?

i agree this will be a carcker and looking forward to it but green will be in control.

    SHIKAKA!!!!!

    The rare albino bat!!!!

But yeah, Green has boxing skills, I mean ****, you don't get as far as he has without them. They're just not as good as some other boxer's.

It's because he was KOing most of his earlier opponents and earned the title of hardest punching SMW 2 years running in the Ring mag that he is known as a big puncher only.

He's got a lightning fast ramrod straight jab when he uses it, that can't be denied.

im a bit worried about this guy i think its a 50-50 fight at least its good to see a good competitive defence of a title rather than the crap mundine has been serving up lately
