I think Urango knocks Valero out to be honest.

I think Valero can KO Bradley, Khan, and Hatton...so we can Urango

I hope Soto catches a break at 140. I think he's a very good fighter

Personally I'm tired of watching Urango lose title fights. Let's give someone else a chance at it.

I thought Valero looked kinda small next to DeMarco. Surprised he's having weight issues.

    ? He's only had two title shots at 140 and he's 1-1.

  8. LOL. He didn't even come close to KO'ing that 5'10" stringbean Demarco. Valero's so-called great power won't be so against guys @ 140.

well considering D. Diaz was a former WBC champ .. Soto/D. Diaz for the interim title would not surprise me.

that would be an awesome fight, and if HBO or Showtime doesn't pick it up, ESPN2 could use it as a Friday Night Fights.

Urango could lose his title in his next fight vs Alexander in March if that were the case, I don't see how title fight would apply to a Urango-Valero fight since Urango would be without a title.

yes vs Hatton & Bailey were Urango's only 140 lb title fights and vs Alexander will be the third

but Urango also fought Berto for a title at Welter.

so while Urango is 1-1 at 140 in title fights .. he's 1-2 in combined title fights. (and it'll be 1-3 if he loses to

Soto-Valero would be a good fight, I think Valero wins but its one of the best fights that can be made around that weight. Actually, with Valero's nasty cut and Soto fighting in a month then both their next fights should time out at the same time.

I'd like to see Valero match up with a lot of 140 pounders but I'd prefer him to hang out at lightweight for a few more fights, especially for Soto. There are a lot of good fights there for him and I think his power diminishes some at the weight making him less of a threat. Valero-Soto would make a nice main event for one of Arum's Latin ppv's that he could put on in Mexico.

I know good sir, I didn't forget that. I just think his title shot at 147 was a joke and sort of irrelevant when discussing his title opportunities. I just don't think he's a Zab Judah or Rocky Juarez.

I see your point there. If he loses to Alexander he doesn't deserve a title shot...that said would Valero vs Urango even BE for a belt? If he loses to Alexander then the titles are uinified aren't they?

I think if I'm in charge of Valero's career, I want to test him at 140 against the most rugged dude in the weight class. That way if I lose, I can say he lost to a dude who can reasonably fight at 147.

I know a trainer from East LA and he informed me that Valero's punch was able to rock his fighter Mighty Mike Anchondo (former champ) who was more than 10lbs heavier than Valero at the time--with headgear and sparring gloves.

#1. Fair enough and besides Judah + Juarez have blown more title shots than Urango anyways as I believe all of Judah's losses were in title fights. Urango needs to lose a couple more big fights before he reaches that level

#2. Correct, if nothing changes between now and fight night, and both sanctioning fees are paid (IBF+WBC) Urango vs Alexander is a unification for both belts .. . as long as the fight doesn't end in a draw .. someone is gonna walk away empty handed.

#3 I'd like to see Valero test the waters at 140 also, but depending on how long Edwin has to sit with the cut, IMO Arum could chose to let Valero take one more fight near the end of the year vs Soto or Katsidis, then test the waters at a higher weight in 2011

Er, he was at 130 and moved up to 135 recently. He hasn't fought at 126 for years.
