    Excellent fight! :good

I really enjoyed it. Think I'll watch some of his earlier fights. He's got a Bailey-esque dig it seems.

How many people on here have him undefeated? :think

Me, I had him beating Judah and Alexander by a few rounds IIRC.

Very well schooled. A bit of a slow starter( leading me to dump £100 on Soto inplay) but I got what I deserved because I thought Matthyse would 'win' but get jobbed. Didn't think he would systematically break him down like that.

Can't see Khan going anywhere near Mattysse if he beats Garcia.

I really like Matthysse and I have done for a while. To me, he's the epitome of what a boxer should be. He comes to fight, he doesn't mind taking a few shots, he's not overly wild or reckless but is still punishing and aggressive. He has a stoic attitude and you rarely see any sort of emotion from him in the ring. He isn't flash, cocky or arrogant, he's just there to do what he does best - fight.

There's a lot to respect about him. I first took note when he beat Harris and I think he's improved quite a lot since then. He deserved to beat Judah, crushed Corley, got robbed against Alexander, which even the St. Louis crowd booed, and has obviously now added Soto to his list of victims. I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves by boxing fans and I think it's a shame he was robbed in the two biggest fights of his career, because those bad decisions took a year out of his prime.

He may not be the best fighter in the world but you know what you get from him. If you want to see flash, arrogance and supreme skill, he might not be your man. If you want to see a proud, humble warrior go about work in his own way, then he fits that description as well as anyone else in boxing right now.

I hope he does get the Khan fight. Honestly, I wouldn't pick anyone over him at 140lbs right now. He's just too strong, tough, hard hitting and determined. I just hope that we get to see him against the best because he deserves those chances. I fear that his lack of popularity will hinder his career but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Soto doesn't belong at 140lb and never really been impressed by him. Fight was always a mismatch IMO

Assuming Khan beats Garcia and moves upto WW-I wan't to see Matthyse vs Olesegun for vacant title

Youve never been impressed by a guy that has 69 fights in a bunch of different divisions, 2 world titles?

Hes excellent imo. I take your point about 140 though, in saying that the argie looks pretty small for 140

Matthyse is a great fighter, I think he beats anyone at 140 at the moment including Khan, hope he goes on to get revenge against Judah and Alexander down the line because he should really still be undefeated, I had him winning both of those fights.
