Apologies in advance for the rant, but this has been doing my tits in and there hasn't been much going on in this part of the forum today anyway. What is it with boxers who feel the need to tell the world they are "humble"? AJ - Stay Hungry, Stay Humble. Every man and their dog who holds a pro license Twitter bio - "humble boxer". If you have to tell the world you are humble, then you're not really that humble.
If a fighter is "humble" then he is fake, if he talks trash then he is scum. You lot need to grow up.
Its just a way for them to stay grounded and focused. AJ especially, he's presumably earned more already in 16 fights than 95% of fighters do in their entire careers. I can see why staying humble is his mantra, just like Mayweather and his "Hard work and dedication" motto. Must be so easy to just switch off and not work as hard as you did before when you've got millions in the bank and burgeoning fame.
Every fighter is going have a personality that winds someone up, I would rather say things that are too nice than having a foul mouthed rant at someone for absolutely no reason. This isn't about Fury either as I do quite like the guy as I know someone will say I am referring to him with what I said but say Broner for example with that supermarket stunt, I would much rather see someone say stay humble than do that load of ****e.
Out of interest, are you the guy who got an Anthony Joshua tattoo and then uploaded a photo of it to Twitter?
