Hunt turned down JDS fight (Rumour)

1) In this specific instance, you don't know that Dana lied, because you don't have any info. All you have is a couple of Twitter posts. Hunt COULD have turned down the fight. He might not have been happy with the money, or the date. He might have wanted a promise of a title shot if he won. There might have been timing/travel/training/family/sponsorship issues. There might have been a simple miscommunication stemming from Dana and Hunt not talking directly with each other. Who knows? We don't know. But you automatically, reflexively, pour **** on Dana White and assume Hunt to be 100% in the right and White to be 100% in the wrong.

2) Further than that, after shitting on White and literally calling for him to be shot for not giving the fight you want (sure that's hyperbole but it illustrates your mindset), within hours White DOES give you the exact fight you were calling for. And what's your reaction? :blood *****, ***** *****. Instantly find something else to **** and moan about. :-(

3) Here's the news. Dana White is a fight promoter. There is no fight promoter in the history of combat sports that hasn't talked his product up, attempted to publicly shame fighters and managers into doing what he wants, talked up his fighters beyond their actual abilities, ran down the abilities of guys he couldn't sign, etc etc etc.

4) In fact, White is significantly MORE honest than just about any promoter. When he's not happy with someone, he lets it be known. When a main event sucks, he turns up to the postfight press conference and talks openly about how disappointed he is. When an uneducated crowd boos a good technical grappling match, or boos the little guys for not KOing each other, he tells them that they don't know what the **** they're watching and don't bother coming to the events again if they're going act like shitheads. How many other promoters can you name who would go on a public tirade against their longtime champion and p4p #1 fighter for not respecting his opponent or the fans, as White did to Anderson? :blood

1)If you would have taken just 5 min and read the actual thread, you would have seen that Rob posted tweets from Hunt saying he didn't turned down the fight....

You never take the time to read carefully thread and jump on conclusion you wanna see.

EDIT: The HUGE difference between Hunt and DW is that DW has an history of lying, Hunt doesn't, I'll trust Hunt x1000 then DW...simple has that !

Why are you putting more faith in what DW said then Hunt ?

2) Yeah I call DW to be shot and hang plenty of time, but ***gis just tell me, I ***** about what exactly ?? I know full well what White said and what Hunt said. But I don't pretend like I know the full story based off of two Twitter messages that were posted before the two people in question had a chance to sit down and talk directly to each other. :nono

Everyone knows where White stands. In his way, he is remarkably honest and unfiltered. I can't think of another sport that has as open and fan-friendly a structure, or as accessible a President, as the UFC. White speaks his mind, goes out of his way to give the fans what they want, and has basically brought the entire sport from total irrelevance into the mainstream. As a combat sports fan, that's enough to make me a Dana White fan. I don't agree with EVERYTHING he says and does, but on balance, I like and respect him. Ten years ago MMA was dead and buried, essentially nonexistent. Now it's mainstream and there are tons of great fights and great cards on my TV, many of them for free. As a fight fan, I LOVE that. White is a HUGE part of why the sport is where it is, and I respect and appreciate him for that. You seem to prefer to watch all the fights and **** and moan constantly. :good

I don't like EVERYTHING the guy says and does, but I like what he's done with the UFC. Maybe you prefer the sport to be nonexistent in the West, with zero media coverage, zero respect as a legitimate sport, guys fighting in masks, champions in regular non-title matches, and a handful of shows per year being held in Japan featuring freakshow matches and earpiece-wearing refs. I like MMA being shown on TV, promoted alongside NFL and EPL and All Blacks games, and covered in the sports pages.
