I think Roy has a pretty solid punchers chance against Bigfoot. He has the tendency to get caught pretty frequently, and Roy has some big power in his hands. I wouldn't totally write him off in this fight.

I made the point in the OP. I also don't think Roy will be getting as badly busted up on the feet as he has in all his fights against top fighters.

Roy hits harder and you can really hurt Silva with the right. I think Roy has a good chance here. But I can see Silva taking him down and putting the pressure on him. Then Nelson will struggle not to be ragged as the fight progresses

Interesting fight because of the toughness, the big right hand and the grappling ability.

I wish Roy would lose weight and embrace his grappling again. His grappling his high level and no joke. His belly, stamina and love of the right hand is stopping him from excelling.

Against most people yes but Big Foot is open. Nelson can dig with it. It's all down to whether you think Big Foot can Hilda shot better than Schaub or Struve ;-)

I dont think Mir will be wanting to stand with Cain... He'll embrace his BJJ.

I don't see him having much of a choice.

I mean yea, I think Mir COULD stand and trade for a bit but with him being as smart about MMA as he is, Nahhh...BJJ all the way.

Exactly. Nelson is a tough, experienced mma striker that know how to land his overhand right on a taller fighter.

His chin hasnt exactly looked solid i must agree , sometimes being injured can be a blessing , dos Santos would of known he would of needed to land something big , early !! , he was waiting for his chance , where if he had his full range of movement he may of fought a little differently , dos Santos does use his agility and movement as one of his main weapons , he had no reason not to stand in front of Velasquez as he isnt known for 1 punch power , and his kicks usually consist of body and leg attacks , nothing thats gonna end a fight there and then

Velasquez has all the attributes to be one of the best HW's of all time IMO

Mir is good at what he's good at , anything outside of Frank's comfort zone and he's cooked , Velasquez will demolish him :deal

His right hand has brought him the most success inside the UFC , where the level opponent isnt the IFL , Nelson is a black belt , but who the **** isnt @HW ??!!

Firstly , how , if your Roy Nelson , do you take Antonio Silva to the ground ?? , well ................ you dont do you !! , the guy will outweight Nelson on fight night by 30+ pounds , as Nelson cant wrestle !!

And secondly , he's looking for the OHR because of the above , Silva is better on the ground than Nelson and bigger , its a bad combo

Nelson has to look to KO him on the feet

Well, it looks like they are going with Werdum vs. Russow at UFC 147.
