To beat Froch, Hunter says the opponent will need a full tank of gas for the entire twelve rounds to counter-act the rabid attacks of Froch down the stretch.

"To be honest I can’t see any way DeGale can defeat him. No-one who runs out of steam in the second half of a fight the way James did against Dirrell will beat Carl," Hunter told Daily Mail.

"Froch can’t be taken out early and he is deadly in the latter part of a fight. He proved that twice more against George Groves. Despite the controversy about the ending of their first fight the referee was right to stop it because Carl was about to knock George out. Just as he did in the second fight."

Does Hunter have a point ?

Virgin Hunter is trying to instigate or rather fan the flames between Froch and Degale because he A. doesn't want Froch to get to Golovkin first. B. because he knows DeGale is going to tap his boy's ass. Or C. both. Hunter is a very devious individual. Nothing that double-tongued creep says should be taken at face value

Hunter often has a lot of sensible and informed things to say, it's just a shame he can't talk some sense into Khan and has to take him away from cameras for his own safety now. I can't really comment on this fight yet as I need to watch more of DeGale.

Trust me Hunter has ulterior motives. He always does. He simply cannot and should not ever be trusted. The man is a snake and rotten to the core.

Sure he does, but Froch still would beat DeGale.

I'd like to see DeGale vs Ward too.

He doesn't want Kovalev to go anywhere near his boy. Saying and doing are two completely separate things. Neither Hunter or his protege who he has been poisoning with his paranoia for decades are to be trusted.

The negotiations came from Kathy Duva ..Not Ward ..

I'm really curious to see why Ward says after his bout with Smith

Hunter is still salty that DeGale whooped his boy Brandon Gonzales aka Ward lite. Gonzales gives Ward hell in sparring and an injured DeGale who was only at 45-50% of maximum ability wiped him out with ease.

Hunter tried his mind games before that fight too but they backfired spectacularly.

'McDonnell was not impressed with the fact that Gonzales arrived only six days before the fight, nor was he impressed with some of his trainer’s behaviour prior to the bout.

“As far as I know, Virgil Hunter has never boxed 12 rounds, I have and James DeGale has. He doesn’t know what goes on in a fighter’s mind. There was the whole thing with them coming here six days before the fight when they should have been here 21 days before to acclimatise. No disrespect, but that’s incompetence and inexperience even though he’s a trainer of this and that. He came here saying James is depressed, but James had so much confidence with them coming late and the fact that Gonzales hadn’t boxed 12 rounds.

“I watched one of his fights in the lead up, only an eight rounder and he gets back to his corner and he said something along the lines of, ‘I’m tired.’ Virgil Hunter spent the whole minute saying to him, ‘Brandon, you aint tired!’ He kept repeating it over and over again. He didn’t give him any technical advice. You could see at the press conference that it was all about Virgil Hunter, he was doing all the interviews. I was thinking while looking at his fighter, he’s yawning, he’s still got jet lag. He wasn’t ready!”

Carl knows different which is why he dropped the IBF to avoid fighting DeGale.

Hunter is only spouting this nonsense to boost Wards win over Froch. I doubt Gonzales will appreciate his comments too much

I know all this. Like I said, saying and doing are two separate things. Ward pulled out of fighting DeGale.
