Hunter needs to slow Khan down take him back to boxing, Khan is a BOXER NOT A PUNCHER

    Virgil Hunter needs to bring back the Khan we saw vs Kotelnik, Paulie, Zab a thinking working of the jab hit and move Khan and work from there.

    Improving his inside and defence game will help but it more his reading of a fight when to press and when not to is more important, Khan needs to slow his workrate a little and pick his moments better, counter more, lead fighters into little traps, spin fighters around, hold fighters for time and rest, Khan is too much all action, just be smarter with his energy.

    Khan has a great jab use that alot more, If Hunter cant improve Khan then no one ever will.

    Enough of this no defence all out puncher Manny type 2 ****, Khan is a boxer not a puncher Roach should of known that....

    Hunter is a quality trainer but unless he is a surgeon and can re-construct Khan's ability to take a punch it will all be for naught.

    I think Khan shown before Garcia fight he can take a decent shot, Maidana PEDerson, Zab are not light hitters, Khan's problem is his lack of good defence.

    Hunter will improve Khan's D.. But we will see how well Kahn can follow directions.. Training in Kings Gym, with access to other fighters (Donaire, Ghost Gurrerro, Angulo, Ward) Kahn could get the game he needs to get back on the Championship Track... Kahn has to drop that Arrogance that he cant be touched.. We all know his Jaw is soft as baby ****.. (Presscott, Madiana, Peterson, Garcia) all have taken chucks out of Kahn.. Hopefully Virgil can teach him not to get as hit as much, and help him control his range... We will see if Kahn the superstar will show up to Oakland or Kahn the student...

    Khan is what he is, it doesn't matter who's training him. Hunter can get him to box more defensively perhaps, but against better opposition Khan's power inspires no fear, they are just going to pressure him and try to put something on top of Khan's jab until they catch him, and once they do, Khan doesn't recover. That doesn't mean that Khan can't have a solid career from here out, but against the elite that chin will always fail him.

    That's the thing, Khan IS a puncher... not devastating but it's there. He just doesn't have a very good chin. He needs to stop going to war and stay within himself.

    The real heading for this thread should be: Hunter needs to arrange a chin replacement for Khan , Khan chin is THE WORST IN BOXING TODAY. That is a big statement when one considers the likes of Anthony Mundine and Audley harrison!

    He's not a puncher though. What power he does have is in his combination shots and shocking his opponent with the speed of the punches. He can destroy lesser fighters like say, Salita, with that. But against the top tier guys, that kind of power isn't enough, and if he's made to fight more defensively, he will get even less respect because his single shot power isn't good at all.
