Personally, I think Hunter and Ward should just let it go and realize the reality of the situation.
I watched Everton Luiz as he cried on his team mates shoulder in response to attacks by Golovkin type fans in Brazil and couldn't help thinking, "What a Wuss"! What the hell did he expect when this has been going on since Pele.

Ward meeds to erect a Mayweather like hard shell, abandon his "Christ Loves Me" persona and give America what they truly want. Then the big dollars will flow and he can take the respect he is due. If he were part Korean, he'd know better.

Is it empowering to play a victim?

Of course they did. HBO's worst fear would be Ward fighting GGG at 168. They already knew what would happen to their precious GGG if he dared to get in the ring with Ward there.

A lot of people predicted he wouldn't take the fight and he did, they predicted he would get dominated then knocked out but yet he managed to find a way to go 12 and win. After they said he was lucky to win and it was a robbery, barely anyone gave him credit for moving up taking a fight many have avoided, getting knocked down and still managing to finish and pull out the victory.

I'd be pretty pissed too. With that being said he was paid very well, he was given a decision which many thought he was lucky to get and he signed the contract so he better give Kovalev his rematch or retire.

To be fair I remember Loefler saying he wanted a 50/50 deal and Ward later said they agreed on a 50/50 deal. So i have to ride with Ward there.

Yes, so this was after Ward's absence.

I think it fits in perfectly with was I said; by that time Golovkin had set his eyes on a Canelo fight and wanted to be very well-paid to move up. Hence the 164 lb 50/50 offer, sources say that Golovkin wanted more money for a higher weight.

    Or am I missing something?

Yea a lot of people predicted a Kovalev KO and a 12-0 white wash for Ward. So ?
Neither happened. And Ward was the favorite.
In fact the truth is the vast majority thought the Russian edged it, but Ward, the guy HBO hated so much, got the decision. How come u guys are crying right now ?
