Funny how easy Ward-Kovalev was made, but when ever it comes Golovkin everything becomes complicated. More accomplished fighters took less money with more risk than the offer this fraud have gotten. Canelo's offer to Golovkin is way more than what Hopkins got from De la Hoya. Way more than Canelo made against Cotto and Mayweather.

Ward is a crybaby and a diva, playing victim mentality.
Big bad Hbo forced him to move up? LMAO!

So there are two narratives here.

    1) Ward could easily make 168 but was "forced up" by HBO. In which case what was his problem with taking 164 for the Golovkin match?
    2) Ward found it impossible to make 168 anymore and had to move up to 175 out of necessity. In which case HBO forced him to do nothing and he was never going to fight Golovkin anyway at 168.

Team Wardrina needs to decide which story they want to stick with, because they are mutually exclusive.

And also, get a grip. A pout's only good on supermodels.

I still can't get over what a baby Ward is. A prizefighter's reaction to people thinking the other guy beat him should be to rematch and beat the pyss out of the guy.

Hagler did it. Holyfield and Bowe. Marciano. Louis and Schmeling.

    Actual champions with big nutsacks.

We should start a collection for Ward, and buy him some baby wipes and scented candles.

    :beautiful:

G obviously wasnt trying to fight Ward... so I dont know why he keeps getting brought up in a discussion about HBO wanting Ward to fight Kovalev.

Yes... one of those tune ups and weight acclimatizing fights 'could' have been G... it wasnt... im not understanding the point of bringing it up.

Ward couldn't secure any big fights at 168, with little big options on the horizon, so it was in HBOs interests that he challenge Kovalev. Pretty cut n dry.

This was already well known. Duckavich was only too happy to have his network protect him from big, bad, pudding fisted Ward.
Everything this clown and his team put out over the media from being willing to fight anybody from 154/168 to heavyweights folding under his power was only intimidation tactics and like the classic bully boy he squirmed when a guy on his own level stood up to him.

Ward vs GGG would have been a great fight and it still can be. Whats stopping GGG calling him out and meeting him at 170? Ward would take that fight in a heart beat and every body knows it.. But we all know there isn't a chance in hell Golovkin would sign up for it.

Whats even more pitiful is these GGgoons spending night and day coming up with reasons why GGG shouldn't have to fight Ward and justifying the duck. One of the best fights to be made in the sport and they have zero interest in it ever happening.

They are the biggest group of idiotic fanbois , not just in boxing , but in all sports , movies , music etc. Basically the biggest shower of Muppets on the internet. :chuck:

    Ward's retiring, didn't you hear?

Kovalev beat the spirit out of him and now Andrea Wardrina is upset because I quote "he isn't appreciated".

    He's gone. :wave1:

there we're some users saying Ward gonna completely school Kova. But like you said, no true boxing fans saw this fight lean heavily towards one boxer.

I think the rematch will happen. In june

Ward on the cusp of ATG. He's got Krusher in June, then if he beats Kovalev, probably Beterbiev in Autumn.

I honestly don't see him p×××y out, unless theres something I'm not catching here.

well kirk...i understand how anything that paints ggg in a negative light isnt a hot topic of convo for the golovkinites.....but this is a very recent quote from virgil hunter so i feel it is relevant.....

ward wanted a big fight at 168...but tiny nuts mw didnt want any...at least thats my view

so im asking the masses if they believe what hunter is saying....or they have a different story/version(the other versions being ward couldnt make 168 anymore anyway or whatever stories have been going around...there are several....some even insist it was ward who didnt wanna fight golovkin)...its a legit question....is hunter lying?

if hunter is telling the truth...his guy went up a weight class and beat a savage ko artist.....where abel's guy wouldnt go up a class to fight a featherfist who was basically inactive for 2 years....

to take it a step further...when ward couldnt get the fight he wanted he moved on to do something else that proved his testicular fortitiude and certified his legacy....whereas ggg is still chasing that fight almost two years later

The ones saying that were clearly biased, having seen the fight these two are very closely matched in their own ways, kinda like Frampton-Cruz both can beat each other on a given day.

I hope the rematch happens as I am a big fan of Ward and I think he showed more levels in that fight and would win the rematch more comfortably like 8-4 or 7-5, of course Kovalev is very skilled and could beat Ward too.

I do think Ward might retire because I don't think his keen on the fight, not because he scared but because he knows it's gunna be very hard to get a win when alot of people think you got the robbery the first time. He probably feels hes gunna have to dominate Kovalev in order to get the win this time round. But hope he does go through with it, like you said his on the cusp of ATG, the two wins you mentioned then he should retire and I would easily have him in my top 20, what a resume that would be.

Why does it matter what skin color a boxer is...??? If HBO wanted to protect someone from a white boxer, why did they show both of the Pascal vs Kovalev fights...???

EDIT: And @The Shockmaster I mean that (this) as no disrespect, we have had our differences, and you do bring good points to these threads, sometimes, but you sometimes say things that can be misconstrued; just saying, you do have a BULLSEYE on you with other posters and mods...!!!
