The only thing going for Hurd is his size and attrition, that's it. I still think Lara is firing on all cylinders and should be able to outbox Hurd if he's still standing by the final bell. I really like this fight.

The difference being the skill gap between who you've mentioned.

    Lara >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hurd
    Lee >>> Chavez Jr.
    Lebedev >>>> Jones

Lara's skillset is so far beyond Hurd's it's insane. Lara has also already
proven (in fights against better guys) he won't make the big mistakes and get caught
with the crazy stuff Hurd was ultimately able to catch Austin and Tony Harrison with.
Lara is perfectly content with firing the 1-2 and maneuvering and moving Hurd into oblivion.
He won't get greedy, he doesn't care about the ko, he won't take the risk of getting caught.
    Hurd has no chance.

I could see Lara winning wide on the cards, too. It's either Lara on pts or Hurd knocks him out in the last half. Any other result would really surprise me.

It's boxing, anything can happen. I know Lara won't ko Hurd and Hurd won't
outbox Lara, anything else you never know

This is an interesting enough fight to end my 12 year aversion to avatar bets.

I've got Lara, and @Drew101 has got Hurd.

The more i think on it, the more I favor Hurd. Lara's been too busy sleeping on silk sheets thanks to the fat paydays for easy fights he's had the last few years to be as ready as he needs to be. I don't buy that he's still got the hunger to outlast Hurd.

That's going to be the difference. Will beats skill in this one.

Lara hitting too hard for Hurd to just walk through is debatable. Paul Williams walked through Lara's flush left hands and kept coming. No reason why Hurd shouldn't be able to do the same. He is a more stout build than Williams was.

The fight is at 154. I can’t remember the fight card, but a few weeks back, Hurd was on Showtime as a guest, with Benavidez and one other fighter, can’t remember who. Anyways, Hurd looked huge compared to Benavidez who is a big 168 pounder himself.
Hurd is a freak of nature. That said, he needs to move quickly and fight the best as soon as he can as his face first, take 2 to land 1, style of fighting does not promote fistic longevity.
