Lol do you understand the amount of work this guy must put to shrink into that weight division? Do you understand how detailed his program must be so he doesn’t become a zombie at the weight?
If any big guy could drop 30 lbs without hindering their performances we would have an entire sport full of weight bullies. A lot of guys aren’t prepared to take the risk or put in the work that Hurd does in order to give himself that size advantage. One day he will find out his body cant effectively lose the pounds and he will get beaten but till then I say well done to the man for his effort coz I know 90% of people aren’t willing or can’t to lose 25-30 lbs and still perform at world level in their sports.

Doesn’t matter he is in the 154 division. Harrison wasn’t no small 154 lber either.

A coward? That is what you call excellent conditioning and preparation, there is a reason why he can get to 154 and other guys walking around 180 can’t. They don’t have the balls or aren’t prepared to put in the amount of work it takes to get into that division and still perform against quality operators. If anything he is brave for being so audacious coz at any day he may get it wrong and come in like a zombie.

yeah definitely he will struggle once his body can no longer take all that weight cutting. Guys like Hurd who take punishment to wear you down, have a very short shelf life so if he beats Lara he needs to keep pursuing more titles before it all goes tits up and he can’t cut the weight anymore.

You may be right about that, but levels aside I don't see Hurd doing as well when he moves up.

Cheeser Jr would easily have beaten the Lara and Trout that fought Hurd.

Hell , Andy Lee would probably have waxed the two of them out as well.

I fully understand and I still think it's a dirty trick, rather than doing all this maybe he should fight men who are naturally as big as him, rather than try to fight smaller guys? That's a good idea no?

What fighter did he fight 3 divisions below his natural weight division?

Hurd hits plenty hard enough to get respect @ 160. Ffs if Sergio Mora can drop Jacobs hard, than what do you think Hurd will do to him.

160 is only 6lbs north, Hurd will carry his size up no problems. Ffs half the fighters up there are from 154 too.

Trout and Harrison are naturally much bigger men than Canelo. Canelo looks like a weight lifting dwarf and he gave the 160 monster GGG a hell of a fight.

That's not actually that huge for 154.

I assume he's 5-10 lbs heavier than he is in the ring after dieting and camp.

Probably gets in the ring around 170, which is a good sized LMW but isn't the freak that most make him out to be

I don’t get the point here.

What relevance does ‘walking around weight’ have? The relevant metric is fight night weight.

It’s common knowledge that most of the top guys at 154 come in at about 170 on fight night.

Doesn’t 178-180 sound like a perfectly normal weight out of camp for someone aiming to be about 170 on fight night?
