Sad to hear the news that Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter has prostate cancer and probably only months to live. The news was revealed a few days back by a lifetime friend of Carter's, John Artis.

For those not aware of Rubin Carter, he was the US middleweight convicted of murdering 3 people in in New Jersey in 1966, and immortalized by Bob Dylan's song 'The Hurricane'.

That's sad. While I do think he did kill those people, I wouldn't wish anyone to get cancer.

It's amazing how quickly even the toughest and strongest can go from a disease. He always seemed to be in good shape, even when he was old.

Sad to hear. Here's to hoping he enjoys the company of his loved ones during his remaining time. Best wishes, champ.

I've read a bit on the murders, as I'm sure you probably have, and I also tend to think that he was guilty.

But mine is an uneducated view based mostly on reading other people's uneducated views.

    My condolences.

Who knows if he murdered them people? Only he does, and he'll meet his maker, innocent until proven guilty, and I send out my deepest condolences to him and his family.

His story will live on for more than one lifetime.

Bob Dylan's song, a big part of why Carter's defence campaign gathered momentum, will help see to that.
