The man who masterminded Garth Wood's win last night, Billy Hussien, would like to see a rematch. It's good to see Billy's aims for Garth are realistic too, with National & Commonwealth titles on the radar.

There's also a very funny quote below that states indirectly that Billy doesn't rate Mundine as world class - see

Wood should seek Mundine rematch: Hussein

    by Adrian Warren - snh - Dec 9 2010

Garth Wood's trainer Billy Hussein would love to see a rematch with Anthony Mundine after his fighter pulled off the biggest upset in recent Australian boxing history.

Unheralded Wood was given little hope of beating the vastly more experienced Mundine, but knocked out "The Man" in the fifth round of their clash at ACER Arena on Wednesday night.

Hussein revealed they had been working for the last 10 weeks on the devastating left hook which proved the decisive punch in Woods' final flurry.

Respected trainer Hussein, who has been in the corner of many of Australia's top fighters, rated it the greatest win of his career.

Wood who earned the fight with Mundine by winning the Australian version of The Contender reality boxing show was rated just a $6.50 outsider for the bout against Mundine, who was riding a 17-fight five and a half-year unbeaten streak.

"I would love to see Garth give `Chock' (Mundine) a rematch in maybe about four or five months," Hussein told AAP.

"This wouldn't have been possible without Chock agreeing to fight The Contender champion, giving a guy from the `hood, that was off the rails, an opportunity to get through The Contender and give him a year to prepare to fight Anthony.

"Garth is not ready for the world scene, no where near it.

"Garth is aiming to win an Australian title and a Commonwealth title, those are his goals at the moment."

There's obviously more money to be made in rematch for Woods then any other fight.... If he gets beat there's nothing lost because he still has that knock out win over Mundine.

Garth Wood is a very average fighter, he'll get beat by half a dozen Australian middles tomorrow.

Correct guys. Wood's crude at best, and at 32 and a half he'll only get a limited run at it.

A second go at Mundine, particularly for the right money, is a no-brainer next up.

If he beats Mundine again, it'll certainly be all over for Khoder's circus, if it isn't already.

It's all over now, even his Disciples who have propped him up for years now realise he is just an average fighter who hand picked his fights and it eventually caught up with him,he is finished.!!!!

Mundine just needs to retire, he should just become a player manager asap.

I got a boy in the next room called D Mead that could make him a fair few dollars.

A Mundine rematch would be Wood's best bet. It could generate a lot of money if marketed properly.

If Garth starts testing other waters, his dream run will come to an abrupt end.

As much as I'd like mandy to sweat on a rematch I think $$$ wise for Garth its definately the best option. Lets be honest he's very limited and could possibly lose his next fight against whoever he goes up against. Like Buster Douglas did when he killed the golden goose in Tyson, he got paid handsomely to lose in his next bout against Evander. Garth should rematch mandy for the right $$$$............and who knows he just might be able to do it again.
