To suck. A few weeks ago, we had an unprecedented (for the modern era) number of exciting, top level fights lined up, and more potentially even bigger fights down the line. We had a dethroned dominant champ rematching someone who appeared to have a good chance at being the next great champ. We had two other exciting, promising belt holders, one of whom is highly criticized but was about to face a consensus top 5 HW and ensure the belt would be held by a well regarded secondary champ either way, which would pave the way for a great unification bout down the line where the winner would emerge as truly great.

Since then? Obviously first and foremost, the Wilder/Povetkin fight gets cancelled because Povetkin is a dumbass. That leaves Wilder to remain "unproven" in the eyes of his critics and without nearly as good a resume as he should have heading into bigger fights for more objective fans. Tyson Fury continues to appear to mentally self destruct, talking about retiring after the Klitschko rematch, and talking about getting downed three times by a light heavyweight. Excepting power, Fury has almost limitless physical potential, but at times I've always had a question about whether Fury has the mental durability to be a dominant champ, and it looks increasingly likely the answer to that is NO. Finally, just as a little parting shot, an interesting little side fight, Briggs/Dimitrenko gets cancelled.

I'm doubtful if the three belt lineages will get unified now, and even if they do, I doubt the matches will be built up properly. I can see Wilder and Joshua fighting each other or Fury before they are sufficiently proven as legit ATG threats.

Just when HW boxing, by far my favorite division, looks like its finally realizing its full potential, it finds a way to **** all over you. I come in and out of the forum based on things like time availability and mental boxing bandwith; right now, peace ya'll, I'm out for awhile!
