It's not that bad but I see what you mean. The two top guys in the division that hold all the belts and are both undefeated with all knockouts won't fight each other. Other than that it's not the worst era but it's far from great
The worst part about is as shitty as the division is we can’t even get the two at the top to fight each other to determine the 1 scrubcake
Right at this moment in time I am starting to enjoy the Heavyweight division. Is it a golden era? No of course not but it's competitive, I think a lot of these heavyweights can all beat each other on any given night and as a boxing fan I want to see competitive and entertaining fights. Last night Chisora Vs Takam was competitive, very entertaining and ended with a KO. Parker Vs Whyte had knockdowns, was competitive and very nearly had a dramatic and sensational ending. Recently enough we've had AJ Vs Klitschko, again that was dramatic, entertaining and ended with a KO, same with Ortiz Vs Wilder, that was a great watch and had me glued to the screen. The division isn't stacked with great heavyweights far from it and nobody is claiming it is but it is getting very entertaining.
You are right. When I made the post I was thinking skill wise. I really do believe it's a joke division skill wise. I don't think the top guys would be anything but fringe contenders or gatekeepers in other eras. For example, I like watching Wilder's fights, but his crap technique is pretty apparent. I don't believe a fighter like that would be at the top in most eras. Joshua is usually (not lately) fun to watch, but I find him robotic. I mean he was very close to being stopped by a 40-41 year old ATG?
Tyson Fury could beat almost all these guys rather easily. Wilder and Joshua would be easy as well but he needs to get in better shape.
