I was going to ask who was Lennox Lewis' best win. But I'll expand it a bit and ask the following: Name the SINGLE best career win for each of the following: Vitali Klitschko Wlad Klitschko Lennox Lewis Evander Holyfield Mike Tyson Larry Holmes George Foreman Joe Frazier Muhammad Ali
Vitali Klitschko, Sanders perhaps? Wlad Klitschko, Peter imo. Lennox Lewis, Hollyfiled II. Evander Holyfield, Tyson I Mike Tyson, Spinks. Larry Holmes, Cooney?? Maybe? George Foreman, Frazier I Joe Frazier Ali I Muhammad Ali, Frazier III.
Unlike the other weight classes, boxing fans worship the heavyweights as Gods pretty much. I need to start building that temple to Marciano.
Best as in performance or best as in significance? I don't want to end up wasting my time when I respond.
Vitali Klitschko, Corrie Sanders Wlad Klitschko, Ruslan Chagaev Lennox Lewis, Hollyfiled II. Evander Holyfield, Tyson I Mike Tyson, Mike Spinks. Larry Holmes, Gerry Cooney George Foreman, Moorer Joe Frazier Ali I Muhammad Ali, Foreman
You could consider both criteria. Performance Quality of opponent significance Manner of win legacy Weight these factors as you see fit.
Best wins of these fighters in H2H terms, based on the specific versions of fighters whom they defeated. Vitali Klitschko - Corrie Sanders Wlad Klitschko - Chris Byrd Lennox Lewis - Vitali Evander Holyfield - Bowe II Mike Tyson - Tucker Larry Holmes - Witherspoon George Foreman - Frazier I Joe Frazier - Muhammad Ali I Muhammad Ali - Foreman
Old Sanders was nothing special, but he was coming off an impressive early KO win against the 40-1 Wlad. Honestly, maybe Gomez is Vitali's best win, considering Old Sanders only had 2 rounds of stamina by then.
In his 18 year career, he only cracked the Ring Magazine top 10 in 2 years of those years. He didn't even crack the top 10 for the first 13 years of his career. He is a career journeyman who has a one hit wonder on his resume. The only world class heavyweight he fought in his prime, Hasim Rahman, beat him in 7 rounds. He was embarrasingly knocked out in 2 rounds by Nate Tubbs. Sanders = A glorified career journeyman and one hit wonder. He was not an A level fighter by any means. I keep hearing people call Vitali a "great fighter", but if that's his best win, you have to wonder how "great" Vitali is.
Old Sanders was a "Grade C" crude slugger with decent speed for his size before he gasses early. He got unlucky against a fragile & non-Steward version of Wlad using his good power. I loved the Rahman slugest, but the better man won, & that was Rahman.
