I've always wondered about their ability to take a punch: Marion Wilson http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=4537&cat=boxer Was stopped on cuts only once in his entire career, fased big punchers - Rachman, Briggs, McCall (2 times), Peter, Ibeabuchi, Izon (2 times), Golota (2 times), Mercer, Jimmy Thunder, Maskaev, Kirk Johnson and some others Ross The Boss Purrity http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=5622&cat=boxer Was stopped on cuts 3 times, faced both Klitschko's, Corrie Sanders, Rachman, Kirk Johnson, Gonzalez. Ross was never knocked down these 2 fighters are the best examples of journeymen with ATG chins Maybe you can add some relatively unknown HW's with great chins.
Everett "Bigfoot" Martin was another 90's journeyman who had a solid chin. He wasn't a big heavyweight either, used to fight at 168 lbs. George "Scrap Iron" Johnson was tough. Of course how could one forget the legendary Joe Grim, "the man no one could knock out".
Probably have to say Joe Grim is the quintessential example of this, though calling him a journeyman would be extremely generous. What the hell was up with that guy? I've read he had silly-putty like skin that excreted some kind of mysterious oily substance and a super thick skull. Was he even human?
He doesn't seem anything out of ordinary. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected He had to be inhumanly tough though since he had no defensive skills, his offense consisted of him hopelessly rushing and windmilling his opponents and he weighed no more than 160 lbs. Despite that he fought Jack Johnson, Bob Fitzsimmons, Barbados Joe Walcott, Joe Gans, O'Brien and Blackburn, going the distance with all of them.
Nice post!!:happyWhat about Garing Lane???Scrapiron Johnson 1st guy to go ten with Smokin Joe Though Quarry,Andy Kendall caught Scrap in 1!!!!atsch
