Following on from the article ...

Who Will Replace Wladimir Klitschko As The Number One Heavyweight?

what is a likely HW top ten in 2 years from now - say Jan 1 2010 ?

(Wlad may well still be there at the top - or may have been injured or KO'd)

Probably Wlad will still be number 1.

Povetkin has a chance, maybe Boytsov if he can make the next two years productive.

I have soured a bit on Dimentrenko, but at 25 years old with as many fights, I still say he has a lot of room to improve, so this is not out of the question.

Chagaev has all the tools, though he needs to be more serious about his career. As much as I like him, it is very hard to take his "illnesss" at face value.

The winner of Lyacovich-Valuev gets back in the mix, but I can't see either of them really dominating.

I will go out on a limb and say that arreola has the best chance of any US prospect. He's big and can punch. If he has a chin, that would make up for an awful lot of technical deficiency.

    GUY WITH NO CHANCE
Peter is a bum, and I have always maintined that. He can punch a little bit, and has nothing else of note going for him.

Solis is already a fat **** heavyweight. He is going nowhere.

Sultan clearly does not want to be around that long. Nothing against him, but he is going to make his money and go home.

Maskaev will be gone by then as will VitKlit.

Chambers is underrated, but does not have the tools.

Malik Scott is a bum and he knows it, thats why he won't fight anyone.

    Kevin Johnson hasn't got anything.

I have not seen greenberg, but no one is impressed by him.

David Haye has as much chance as anyone

Him and Povetkin are the shining lights, in this division littered with fat lumbering oafs that move with all the grace of a North Sea oil tanker

Wlad pisses me off. He's too good, go away

Solis is an awesome talent. I think his German promoters will ensure he gets into shape. Can't discount David Haye either.

I dont think any of those guys will beat Wlad by 2010 though.

One thing we do know is that Oldyfield will still be talking about becoming HW champion.

We will find out about Solis determination by tomorrow (I hope he weights in under 245 lbs)...if he can come down to 230-235 lbs he is of course someone to reckon with as a serious heavyweight contender in about 2 years...

Povetkin, Solis, Haye or maybe even some unknown guy who's making his way up through the ranks.

Chances are Wladimir holds the championship as long as he wants though.

With all due respect to you, no one can make a fighter get into shape if they don't have the drive.

Tua, Peter, Tubbs, Bey, Witherspoon, Page, Sanders, Botha, Johnson, Williams, Pa'hua- these are all guys who could have had stellar carreers and are now just footnotes because they couldn't walk away from the twinkies, and no one could make them.

More than likely, Wladimir will still be at the top of the division. I've maintained that he is head and shoulders above anybody right now.

But if Wladimir is retired or has been KO'd, I'd imagine the top heavyweight would be one of the following: Povetkin, Chagaev, Boytsov, or Solis.

As much as I would have to hate see it, you are most likely right.

As far as true contenders concerned I think besides Klitschko at the top, it would be Chagaev, Povetkin, Solis (if he gets into good shape and maintains it) possibly Dimitrenko and Boystov.
