I just read the article on Byrd on the main page and got me curious about a few fights during the late 90's early 2000's tha could have happened

Early 2000's Tyson before the Lewis pounding and Williams debacle say right after is destruction of Etienne vs Chris byrd who had out boxed the Evander that destroyed Tyson plus out boxed a Tua that Resembled Tyson.

99 or 98 Tua vs the Tyson of the same time

Lamon Brewster vs Tua, Holyfield or Tyson

Lennox Lewis vs Wlad in 2000 or 2001

    1999 Grant vs Wlad

    Byrd vs Lennox

James Toney that KO'd Holyfield vs Byrd or even Brewster

I actually think Bowe that beat Evander in the 1st fight had a great shot vs post jail Tyson

The greatest heavyweight fight that never happened was probably Tyson/Holyfield in 1991

but it was Tysons fault not like the promoters dropped the ball or like one was afraid of the other its not like a ducking he went to jail

sadly the fight in 1991 would have been very different from what happend five years later

Tua-Tyson would be a shoot out you never know in those kind of fights, cant really pick one over the other but this would be a war and someone would get knocked out.

Lamon Brewster vs Tua, Holyfield or Tyson-never thought much of Brewster myself ,i would pick all three to beat him.

Lennox Lewis vs Wlad in 2000 or 2001-Lewis by KO,Wlad wasnt experienced enough to hang with Lennox back then.

1999 Grant vs Wlad-Two prospects,Both hard hitters with weak chins but overall Wlad was the better fighter and he stops Grant in five.

Byrd vs Lennox-Chris was too small,Lewis by KO.

James Toney that KO'd Holyfield vs Byrd-Hard fight to pick but i think Byrd was a better fighter than Toney at HW and win by close but clear decision.

I'm pretty sure Tua would have taken it, bad style match up for Mike. The fact that Tua went 12 hard rounds against Ike who was a big puncher says alot, Tua's chin is granite. The arguement can definitely be made that Tyson is faster and harder hitting than Ike, but not for 12 rounds. The 99' version of Tyson would have been warn down and KO'd.

Tyson was not as explosive and his skills that made him a star in the 80's were very much a shell his defense was gone his movement Tua had a rock hard chin but Tyson could KO anybody. 2 guys with one punch power thats a fight that id never bet on.

I don't understand Why Roy Jones didn't try to pursue a fight with the feather fisted Chris Bryd after beating Ruiz, instead of losing 25 pounds and fighting Tarver. Roy Jones had a horrible managed career.

Tyson vs any of the names during the 90s would have been good, but no he had to mess up and go to prison

    Tyson Vs Holyfield
    Tyson Vs Bowe
    Tyson Vs Lewis
    Tyson Vs Foreman
    Tyson Vs Tua
    Tyson Vs Morrison
    Tyson Vs Mcall

I've always wondered that too. I would have strongly favoured Roy to beat Byrd and I think that would have done much more for his legacy than moving back down and beating Tarver.

Bowe-Lewis is the one that always sticks out in my mind though - it's terrible that this never happened.

If we want to go really old-school then I'd say Dempsey-Greb and Dempsey-Wills deserve a mention.
