After much talk regarding Hygovic v Bakole happening it looks like Hygovic has said no to the fight with Bakole, instead fighting in the states in April Bakole really must be a dangerous opponent if the like of Hygovic says no to him
Hrgovic couldn't get Sean 'Big Sexy' Turner out of there, all 5ft 11 of him, Euro hype job taking easy fights for as long as he can ie. a completely shot fried chicken gut sporting Molina
Some people on these forums are even calling Hrgovic a top 10 heavyweight in the world already. Definitely he's a hype job at the moment. I'm not saying he can't go on and do big things but at the moment he's got little to back up the claim that he's established himself as a contender. If he turns around and fights someone like Michael Hunter or Luis Ortiz, then no one will criticize him for turning down Bakole.
Bakole is a tough fight and what does it offer Hrgovic at this point? No world ranking, not a big payday and a big puncher. A fight against a Helenius, Schwarz, Takam or Jennings does much more for him at this point. Look at Dubois and his record Cojanu, Lartey, Tetteh and Fujimoto on route to a number 2 ranking. Thats the route to take
Too little reward for him. He will prefer to take on someone on their way down with more of a name in the rankings. Shame.
Hrgovic and his team were all saying "Joe Joyce is ducking me", so if that's the case Hrgovic is ducking Bakole.
"I want to fight anyone, anytime......as long as it's in the Olympics, please can I go back to that?"
Bulls*** ain't it. Don't want to hear it's to big of a risk either such a classic excuse in boxing, shame as it would of been a good fight.
Yeah but you always say that about the fight you want. Joyce has a WBA belt and rankings with most bodies.
Barry Mcguigan writing in the Sun "Bakole is the most naturally gifted heavyweight out there". Barry's lost his grip on reality it would seem. If by naturally gifted he means plods round the ring and swings and hopes something will happen, then yeah, he's great. Hrgovic would get a workout with big Martin but not much else.
Your man v Bakole would be a very intriguing fight right now and would be of huge interest to boxthing fans.
