Hyland v Ormond

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to you to lodge an official complaint on the judging performance or Marcus McDonnell in the Hyland vs Ormond fight.

This fight was clearly won by Ormond , however what makes this even more suspect is the difference in the score cards , McDonnell scored the fight 117-110 to Hyland , what planet is this guy on ? This was a blatant act of fraud to all of British boxing and the fans not to mention Stephen Ormond !

If 100 people were asked to judge this fight not even Hylands mother would score it 117-110 to Hyland, there is without doubt serious corruption in this decision and it should be thoroughly investigated , its a disgrace and its damaging the sport and your integrity as an organization, therefore I am making a request that Marcus McDonnell be called to account to explain his decision. Until such time he should be banned from all British boxings fights as a judge or referee.

I feel i really must point out a disgraceful score card in last nights Skys Irish card...Now i know scoring is subjective and as much as i want to believe there is little or no corruption i just can't put a 117-110 score to Hyland as merely incompetence !!...It only takes 1 dodgy score card to make a mockery of the result ,not to mention BOTH fighters...I think the Ormand camp have behaved outstandingly to this and the fight should be ordered again ,perhaps at a neutral venue?

Can I please bring to you attention you have got your facts wrong on the Ormond v Hyland judges. Marcus McDonnell was not a judge for the Ormand v Hyland IBF contest, Marcus was in fact the ref for this contest. The judges were as follows:


Valerie Dorselt – New York – Scored 117 – 110 in favor of Hyland

Howard Foster – England – Scored 114 – 113 in favor of Hyland

Pasquale Procopio – Canada – Scored 115 – 112 in favor of Ormond


The judge with the wide score for Hyland 117 – 110 was the Valerie Dorselt from New York, that’s three American judges in the last few months to come up with unbelievable score cards. I think Mr McDonnell is due an apology..

That seems to have been an error. I was taken in by it too.
Turns out it WAS the female judge, not McDonnell who returned the 117-110 score against Ormonde.
But either way, as a BBBoC official McDonnell was a party to this dreadful behaviour by his colleague. This happened in a BBBoC sanctioned event, they ARE liable here. We shouldn't let them off the hook over a typo!

 

Not sure as a BBBoC official Mr McDonnell could be party to much as it was an IBF sanctioned fight.

 

What did the BBBoC say about it? Point you in the direction of the IBF?

Fair enough a mistake by me , but McDonnell is getting NO apology if he had a single shred of decency about him he would be coming out and condemning the score card , he more than anyone see's what fighters put on the line and is the closest to them during a fight where every things on the line, truth is the man is a shite bag who past performances as a judge are questionable !

 

I have amended my original e-mail of complaint with the correct judge name and resent it.

 

Hope you sent it to the right people, it was an IBF fight not the BBBoC. Will be interested to hear what they say.

They all need a good hiding themselves for such backward officiating
