Adding to the growing list of terms that people seem to overuse on the forums is hypejob. People seem to use it to try and categorize every single fighter that comes along that suddenly strikes their interest. I usually try to be sensible whenever a "new" fighter comes along and I start pondering the possibilities, and I never wonder if they are all hype or not because it's usually pretty easy to tell, at least for me, if a boxer has what it takes to go all the way or become successful, and if the hype on his shoulders is deserved. But for those that seem to always make posts about "So & So - Hypejob?" , here are some definite guidelines and questions you should ask before you post another irrelevant post.

    1. Is the fighter that you're wondering is a hypejob someone that has been fighting TV fights for quite a while or is he new to television?
    2. If he's not new, then get some fights of his instead of asking if he's a hypejob on a forum. Are opinions really going to clear up your question.
    3. Why ask if someone is a hypejob and then make a list of reasons why they are a hypejob?
    4. Are you asking if the fighter is a hypejob simply because you want to bash the fighter, or are you asking if you legitimately believe if he's a hypejob?
    5. Pick legitimate up n' comers to ask if they're hypejobs. Don't shy away from asking about unanimously liked prospects like Juanma; actually those are the guys that really deserve questioning because they have near universal respect
    6. Don't pick fighters that are over thirty and ask if they are hypejobs "Antonio Margarito, Joe Calzaghe, Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather." These are guys that have usually put in a solid body of work and you can now make your decision on whether they are great fighters or not, without asking if they are hypejobs.
    7. Go out and do some ****ing research and watch some mother****ing boxing and don't post questions asking if a fighter's a hypejob, when you can just download a few fights and find out for your lazy self.
    8. Forget what I said earlier about possibly making a mistake and posting an irrelevent thread. If it has the word "hypejob" in it, it is definitely an irrelevant thread. (My post doesn't count because I say it doesn't. Big wuup, wanna fight about it).
    9. Don't ask if Mike Tyson is a hypejob. He'll **** you till you love him.
    10. Never use the word hypejob, again, lest I come to your house and have you sodomized by a mountaingoat while I play the banjo music from "Deliverance", consider ending you with a shotgun, deciding that I don't want to get in too much trouble, and then shoot your computer and modem instead, so that you can't infect the world with that word anymore.
Boy, I got a bit intense towards the end there.......But in all seriousness, if you use that word again, I'll smack your face off of your face. I sincerely hope that I've used that goddamn word enough times to make anyone that reads this sick to their stomach :)

An example of a hypejob would be Kelly Pavlik.
