The problem is you are always looking at dela Hoya who is stipulated to go down at 147 catchweight but you failed to look how good Pac was. Oscar did not look weight drained at weigh in, let alone in his work outs. It's just that Pac was too good a fighter who maintained his power and speed at two divisions higher.
Doesnt matter what you look like on the scales its what you are like come fight night, and oscar looked tired before the opening bell and looked leaden footed and weight drained. Pac went up two divisions fair play but Pac would have got a tougher fight off his wife
Had his handlers known what you know now, they would not have allowed Oscar to fight menacing Pacman. But the fact is, he was expected to come healthy which he claimed tp be while training in Big Bear. Nonetheless, the point is Mr. Calzhage except for his showboating/clowning was not impressive in his decision wins against aging fighters. His butt even kissed the canvass twice.
Calzaghe win over Hopkins was hardly great, a SD and many people had Hopkins winning. Calzaghe himself admitted that Jones was shot, and was a big favorite over Jones and did what he was suppose to do. Pacquiao moved up in 2 weight classes and did what everyone thought he couldn't. It's already all been explained in this thread, but in plainer words, Calzaghe ain't **** compared to Pacquiao.
I have to admit Calzhage was way too sensational in his last fight w/ Jones............................ as far as clowning is concerned. He actually overdid the whole act. :rofl
hopkins should audition for dancing with the stars, he likes to hug hold and dance with his oponents lol Look at the way he held calzaghe :rofl and you think he won
Pacquiao was an underdog moving up quite a bit in weight, and utterly dominated his fight. Calzaghe was a favorite moving up slightly and then staying the same, and came off the floor to win decisions both times, one of them a razor-thin SD. While I don't know if it's "great" or not, Pacquiao's win is substantially more impressive.
If someone just plods forward towards you and hardly throws a punch like oscar did, pac must have thought cristmas had come early lol Oscar looked like a promoter with gloves on and no longer a boxer. Pac beat him up but you could see it coming from the first round. However Joe was more evenly matched in his fights, you could argue he was at a disadvantage fighting Bhop at light heavy as it was his first time but even after being knocked down in first round he always finds a way to win the fight, the same thing happened in the rjj fight yet he still out boxed him. I make these two victories more impressive as they were competitive for some of the rounds, wheras in the oscar v pac fight it was NEVER close in any round.
does pac have brittle hands, joe does and has done for 7/8 years and still wins. I would like to see pac and others hit like they have always done with brittle hands Joe is still doing the buisiness at 37 years old which lets face it isnt young He gets hit with the hate about beating old guys lol, yet he is old himself People conveniently forget that when discussing him dont they? Yet who is the name on every super middles wanted list right now, who would the other light heavies want right now joe c Because right now he is the man
But the fact is: many boxing pundits thought that this fight should not happen at all and that it was a total mismatch. Many agree including this writer who incidentally is a Pac fan. Dela Hoya was favored heavily to win against a former flyweight. Pac did what he is supposed to do. He trained hard and he executed his plan. He won lopsidedly against a former middleweight. Won't you consider that sensational? Compared that to Calzaghe who is expected to win but he fell short on impressiveness. I don't think it is fair for you to call anyone hypocrite for their opinion calling Pac's victory as sensational. I'm sorry for your boy not attaining the #1 PforP title. I suggest he go up at heavyweight and fight Klit in the mold that Pac achieved his feat.
Its not a sensational victory, he didnt get hit back it was totally one sided. Oscar looked finished, drained and small Pac did his job fair play, but you just cant call his victory sensational. They didnt look weights apart in the ring at all, in fact pac weighed more on fight night. Pac is a sensational fighter i love to watch him box and nothing would please me more than seeing him fight mayweather and knocking him on his ass. But plain and simple pacs win over oscar was not sensational It reminded me of PBF win over Gatti Sad not sensational
If sound like like a little whiny girl was your goal, mission accomplished. If you had half a brain, you'd see they are two very different situations. All you've done is perpetuated the notion that Calzaghe fanboys are as stupid as the Mayweather fanboys....
