    Sheeet!
Author Abraham is more visible and known to the public then Calzaghe ever was in his hayday, and that's a hell of a statement.
    Why?
Because Abraham's management didn't let him stay hidden at home fighting for a bunch of drunks.

I havent said Abraham is more well known, you must have mis read, or made something up, because I havent made that statement, You have.
Calzaghe fought away and beat Ring LHW champ Hopkins away and a faded but still Ring top 10 rated Jones, who did they beat away?
Abraham fought away and beat... Miranda
Why should Calzaghe have had to have fought away, he was SMW champ, what SMWs should Calzaghe travelled to fight?
Who didnt he meet in his division who would meet him. Hopkins backed out as you probably know.

Yes Ring LHW & SMW champ. 46-0. 21 title defences. WBO, WBC, WBA & IBF titles and the names Lacy, Eubank, Hopkins, Jones, Kessler sounds awful

Nobody said it was awful. Just mediocre.

And I was referring to his opposition, not his accomplishments, which are undeniable.

Hello Des3995, I feel like I know you with the amount I see you on here.

Opposition, I dont see as poor because it was what the division had to offer and not made up of smaller fighters. If there wasnt Calzaghe in the division who knows what the guys he beat would have gone on to achieve, had he not beaten them. Like ive said before, if a fighter is recognised they can become bigger than what they are.
Eubank - was a big SMW name
Reid - was WBC champ and looked unlucky to some when past his best to Ottke who was WBA/IBF champ
Veit - undefeated and holds a win over current WBO LHW champ Braehmer
Mitchell - 2 time WBA champ and looked unlucky to some when losing to Ottke
Sheika - holds a win over G Johnson
Starie - holds a win over C Woods
Lacy - undefeated IBF champ and was favourite to win
Kessler - undefeated WBC/WBA champ and has one and lost the WBA belt and is now WBC champ again since losing to Calzaghe
Hopkins - Ring LHW champ who beat Wright in fight before and Pavlik in fight after.
Jones - who was still Ring top 10

If you look at say Mosely (who I think is a great fighter) his winning resume isnt as great as you would think ie
    P Holiday
De La Hoya twice but 2nd time he was using a substance
    Margarito
Yes I know he is a 3 weight champ and has fought alot of good fighters
Yes I know there are other names on his resume but alot of them were on losing times or didnt do much after but he is a fighter known to the American audience which helps give him recognition

It is very AVERAGE, and tainted due to the few greats were very much past their primes.

Even still, I had Hopkins beating the B fighter by 1 point.

What you saw happen to Kessler during the Super 6 would have been what we would have saw happen to Calzaghe hadn't his manager not hidden him away when Hop and Jones were prime.

Truth is, Calzaghe's resume is not much better than Kessler's. Perhaps Kessler should call out Lacy to even things up.

You're right, you and I do run across each other a lot. I assure you, I am not nearly as big a ***** as I am on esb. Lol.

I do understand where you are coming from in terms of who JC should, could have fought. Even if I was to agree and say there was nobody else out there at or within the reach of weight to fight, I am not getting into that now. My point is who fought who he fought. Period. And that list is mediocre. Not just because they aren't well known.
I don't really understand the need to compare Mosley's or Hopkins' resume to Calzaghe's. It doesn't change the opponents.

:nono You are forgetting his win over Adamek. A PRIME Adamek. That win alone is better than all of Joe's resume combined. I think Hopkins won the first half and Joe won the second of their fight. A rematch should of happened.

Why is it better, at the time Adamek was a LHW champ struggling with guys like Briggs, and sure Adameks looked better as a CW but his only big win is against Cunningham who struggled to beat Wlodarczyk and lost to him before that.
Dawson has made a name out of beating Tarver and Johnson who are how old now? Alot of people thought Dawson was lucky not have a loss on his record against Johnson and Dawson looked close to being stopped at one stage, by Johnson with how many losses and to who?

    Calzaghe > Hopkins

But don't tell the Americans cause in thier minds Hopkins can stay at home and fight bums till the cows come home and still be an ATG. And they are not even sure the Calzaghe really beat him.

I'm still trying to understand why is Kessler crap when he's only been befuddled by two of the best SMWs to fight at the weight? Neither of them knocked him out, although that billy goat head butt of Ward's late seemed to be a cheap attempt at that.
