hypothetical about hearns vs hagler

    hypothetical i dont think has been done...

    hagler vs hearns...what would peoples out look on hearns be had he got hagler agianst the ropes when he threw the right hand ..instead of busting his hand what if he busted haglers head ..and kept pounding untill he got the first round stoppage ...

    wouldn't that be something!...1st ko over hagler and 2nd round ko over duran

    what does this do for hearns?!?

    What if Leonard didn't have great stamina?

    What if the Ali-Liston fight was stopped when Ali was panicking in the corner with the substance in his eyes?

    He'd have been rated higher than he was now, and Hagler would of been rated lower.

    With a question like that this is the sort of obvious answer you can expect.

    To play along with the thread, it would have been an incredible win, ranking up there with the best ever. This of course may have set up a Hearns-Leonard 2 bout much sooner than 1989.

    Not as much as you might think....

    First round wins like this can be put down to Lucky punches.

    Now sure anyone who knows boxing, there is no such thing as a lucky punch, but the casual fan does not always.

    Also Hagler would not of been Hagler, remember this was the fight that turned Hagler from a blue collar champion, champion to global sporting star, a one round KO loss would not of done this.

    On top of this people would of then questioned weather Halger was with hindsight overrated....

    Well, it probably means that 1 half start calling Ray Leonard God while the other half say Tommy was robbed & EVERYODY starts demanding a Leonard Hearns 2, the usual.
