Canelo could easily make 160, then rehydrate to 170+ evident in the Trout fight that was at 154. If he could rehydrate to 172 fighting at 154, Im sure he'd be fine fighting at 160.

Assuming Chavez Jr can make 160.

Who wins, and is it a worthy PPV?

(Top Rank, Golden Boy somehow get together in this equation, remember its hypothetical):bbb

Canelo is a much better boxer, but I think Jr. would be just too strong for him.

Chav jr walks him down and probably stops him.
But I can't believe jr will be able to make 160 anymore without cheating.

I'll humor you since we are "asuming Chavez Jr. can make 160"...

Jr. would be simply too big and too strong for Canelo as the all time record for "uppercuts landed in a single fight" is broken by Chavez.

TR and GBP getting together for this fight is actually far more probable than Jr making 160 again. Ever.

Contracted at 168 and even with an extra 3 weeks Jr can't make it below 173 ffs!

If it was at 160 I'd have to have 'Nelo simply 'cos his younger body could cope with the draining better. In reality this fight should be at LHW or even cruiser. 'Nelos 175ish ring weight and could go bigger, JCC jr probably has an ideal ring weight about 190ish for his frame.

I guess tho' what you were intending to ask is 'who's the better fighter?'. Personally I ain't really sold on either. Both are campaigning way below their natural weight which makes it difficult to judge their abilities realistically.

Both seem to throw hard and have solid chins, but that's kinda what you expect if you're fighting guys 10-20lbs lighter than yourself. In terms of opposition Jr probably has the slightly better resume, and both have been comprehensively outboxed by the top dogs at their weight. In fact Chavez was (despite the late KD) more comprehensively out-skilled by Maravilla than 'Nelo by Floyd (although FMJ always does no more than he needs to).

IMO an' I ain't sure 'bout this: 'Nelo may edge it in the skills department whilst junior's probably a little more resilient (pulled that outta my ass, 'cos I ain't seen either of them properly rocked, however).

At 160 present day I'd have to go with 'Nelo 'cos he'd be fighting Jrs skeleton, if both could come in at any weight they choose (a la JCC jr - Vera) it'd be Junior.

Chavez would overwhelm and stop Canelo. To big and to strong.
