Hypothetical fight: Sergio Martinez v Arthur Abraham

How are his combinations going to get through Abraham's guard? Just because a fighter is slick, it won't make Abraham lower his hands and he has very effective body mechanics for the double guard. To land good punches on Abraham you need to counterpunch him. Between Abraham not having faced a combination puncher like Martinez and Martinez never having dealt with a brick wall that punches with concussive power, I think Martinez has the bigger problem.

 

martinez is a good slick boxer. can't take that away from him.

but he is a jmw with a 50% ko ratio, many of which are american idol season 1 rejects. paul williams was not the "bigger man." no way a light punching jmw keeps arthur in that shell for 12 rounds. martinez is very good at his craft and may very well win a bunch of rounds and be up on the cards when it happens...but happen it will.

At what weight will they fight at? If its at 168 then Martinez is getting KO'ed...At 160 I see Abraham beating him...Probably a 9-11 th round KO!:good
