How long and how well do you think George would have done as champion had he never changed styles had actually beaten Ali.

Let's say it was just a lucky punch to the plexus that retired Ali after the fight or something ludicrous and George never let himself go.

Who does he beat and how?
Who do you think he fights and why?
Who do you think dethrones Foreman?

Do you think it was for the better he retired when he did?

I personally believe his youth was more wasted potential then any other.

Someone would've eventually beaten him and sent him off to retirement. It was bound to happen. Who beats him however is anyone's guess. Ali wouldn't have gotten his rematch. Frazier didn't have enough left. Young was to green and would be facing a vastly different Foreman. I think a Foreman-Holmes fight would've materialized and that probably would've been Foreman's undoing.

We would have seen Don King provide some mis matches and rematches with the likes of Norton and Frazier. Lyle fight may never take place and of course, Jimmy Young was no fan favorite or signed to King, so he gets no chance. But guys like a Quarry/Bugner/Shavers and so on at a rate of 2 fights per year.

So sometime after 1980 he faces someone and loses. Maybe a guy like a Berbick or one of the group from the 76 olympics.

I also think if King has Foreman winning, he never signs up Holmes & Larry is with Butler fighting those regional bouts.

How do you think Terrible Tim fares?
How do you think Foremans resume would look?
How many defenses do you see him having?

I can see foreman going into the early 80s maybe Holmes taking his title but could go either way .I think Foreman if he doesn't find god could come to a bad end through drink or drugs or women. Fights against Dokes and tate would be good and I would of like too of seen George hammering that big nutter Berbick .if foreman would keep on fighting is a real question I could just see him walking away to do god knows what.

He wouldn't see past 1978 unbeaten imo. Maybe a couple or more easy defense s before the good life takes its toll.

I think Foreman was bound to implode at some point, guys who blow everyone out of the water when faced with adversity sometimes react badly. In the Ali fight Muhammed was nailing George with clean straight rights to the head, and then Ali clinched once after drilling George and Foreman had this look on his face like , geez! this ain't ever happened.
