Hard tough fight, but I think Miguel would be "Happy" with a UD victory! Bernard Hopkins .Vs. James Scott at 175 Lbs. @ Rahway State Prison.
Ray Leonard wins a clear UD in a reasonably one sided fight but quite entertaining. Mosley dosent have the size and dosent have that much edge in speed and is outboxed and outfought for 12 or 15 rounds Bernard Hopkins vs Archie Moore @ MW and LHW over 12 and 15
Hopkins might squeek by at Middle. in a close fight. But the 'Ol Mongoose would take him at 175. for a UD. Sugar Ramos .Vs. Juan LaPorte
I'll take Sugar. He's a good natural free-flowing boxer and I think he'd take a decision. Juan La Porte was game and it goes without saying he lasts the distance with that fantastic chin of his, and I think it would be competitive but Sugar edges it. Bert Lytell v Gorilla Jones - 12 rounds at 160.
Scrap the Lytell v Jones one if nobody wants to do it. How about Ricardo Lopez v Michael Carbajal at 108?
Lopez out boxes and out punches Carbajal KOing him in the 5th Medgoen Singsurat vs Chatchai Sasakul at Flyweight over 12
You think it would be that easy? Carbajal was a very talented fighter, never legitimately stopped either. Meh. Sasakul stoppage inside 6 rounds. Both guys could bang, Sasakul is the much better overall fighter though. And I think his skills and footwork ensures he stays away from Singsurat's power. Jose Napoles v Mickey Walker @ 147 over 15.
yes he was very talented but he was Kd'D afew times and Lopez was a huge hitter and a good finisher. Of course it would be a war
I see the Walker style as being bad for Napoles, reason being it uses plenty of strength, can push hm back, if he has Napoles on the ropes for sustainable periods he will land some big shots, i really think he can get a decision, but i for still am going to pick Napoles ironically. I think he can at his very best use the centre of the ring ro box and fight in spots to get a decision. Man i **** out there didnt i? My big chance to go against Napoles and i blew it. Glencoffe Johnson vs Battling Siki
Siki was a tough customer & I would take him by a slim margine. Siki 15 SD. Marvin Johnson .Vs. Chad Dawson 12 Rds.
Johnson in a close, tough fight. Dawson wins a rematch with the same small margin. Gene Tunney squares off with James Toney @ a catchweight of 190
Tunney continually steps around, outmaneuvers him and beats him to the punch. Toney makes it competitive at times, but Tunney holds the upper hand throughout. Tunney by clear decision. Next up: Bob Fitzsimmons vs. Stanley Ketchel
Fitzsimmons from what have read is probably the more skilled boxer but i think Ketchel would be quicker and could punch harder but is not as accurate as Bob. A tough fight and im doing this at MW. I can see the ifght starting fast early with both men landing their tuppence but Ketchel coming out on top with the superior speed winning the brawls and shootouts throughout the rounds maybe even dropping the blacksmith. As the fight progresses i see Fitz cleaner more accurate shots taking more controll as the pace slows and Fitz longer term strategy starts to show as he works the body. Then the fight is very even going into the last 5 rounds (15-20) with Ketchell with the slight edge. In the last few rounds i think Bobs body work would have payed off and would snatch him a highly controversial 20 round decision with calls for an immediate rematch that everyone wants to see. Tony Canzoneri vs Roberto Duran over 15 & 20 rounds
A few posts back, Greg for once I actually DISAGREE with you. If Lopez moved up in '93/'94/'95 to face Carbajal rather than sticking around at SW for six more years, I think Carbajal would've stopped him at around the 8th in one of the most thrilling fights ever staged. Lopez was precise, a fantastic puncher, and had fantastic footwork. But Carbajal had a way of getting inside and getting full range to his punches whilst still nose-to-nose. He would surprise Lopez and stop him, and this is coming from a huge Lopez fan. Carbajal was not as fast as Lopez, but at Light-Fly he had more power in both fists. Duran beats Canzoneri IMO, over either range. But I'll leave it to someone else who's willing to give a more full anlysis :good
