At 140 Oscar would have given Cotto a boxing lesson and a beating. Oscar was at his best at 140-147. I would have loved to have seen a peak Zach Padilla go against Juan Diaz at 140. I also would have loved a Valero PBF fight at 135 or 140. I would take Valero by KO.
If this is a championship fight id take Laguna by late stoppage in a closely contested fight between to highly skilled boxers. Ike Quartey vs Carlos Palomino
Id take Zack in this one doubt about it especially at 140. Zack was a pretty big JW and Juan would be fighting a stronger bigger more aggressive version of himself. Zack wasnt a big puncher but i wouldnt rule out a late stoppage. Most likely The SGV Zack Attack:yep:good would probably win a decision though. Id say comfortable 117-111 or 116-112. Ok Ricardo heres an all SGV matchup how about Richie Sandoval vs Albert Davila battle of Pomona and also My Homeboy Rudy Zavala(Rosemead) vs Paul Banke (Azusa)
Battle of the big right hands ! I go with Baer. More solid capable fighter, all round. Lou Nova v Ken Norton
Norton TKO 6. Nova had size and some pop, but not enough to keep Norton from doing his thing and breaking him down. In a battle of journeymen turned champions... Saoul Mamby vs. Jake Rodriguez
I was trying to get both fighters out of their prime weight to spice up the debate. I forgot to put Tapia (vs Ayala II) vs Penalosa (vs PDL) with the rest of the post. Still appreciate the response Rock. I'd pick Mambay over Rodriguez mainly because I've seen more of Saoul throughout his career.
McKenzie close UD. Chitalada pressures him and puts Mckenzie on the backfoot, picking up the early rounds. As the fights goes on Mckenzie's superior technical skills and experience show as he outboxes Chitalada in the mid/late rounds. Acelino Freitas Vs Ray Mancini
Hmmm...I'd probably favor Mancini in a war that sees both guys hurt/stunned and at least Freitas touching canvas. I guess it's hard to really judge because Freitas had instances of extreme heart (vs Barrios, Casamayor) and moments where he didn't seem to follow his own ordinance (vs Corrales and Juan Diaz). If this is Mancini pre-Kim, I think he KO's Freitas late in the fight n a back and forth battle. Mancini refuses to back down and Freitas is unable to deal with the pressure put forth for a full 12 rounds. Timothy Bradley vs Frankie Randall 140 lbs 12 rounds
Ilm a big fan of Bradley's but id say the Randall that Beat Chavez would have a little bit too much of everything for Bradley. Hes a better boxer and harder puncher than Holt who gave Bradley a hard time. Ill go with Randall by ko 10 in a exciting fight. Ike Quartey vs Carlos Palomino
Great match ups SGV produces warriors Banke was intense I heard he caught HIV though. Turns out one of my fathers long time clients is a trainer...he used to train Mighty Mike from Puente. Told me that Valero BLASTED him in sparring with a single shot that caused his knees to buckle while wearing sparring gear and with large gloves WTF? What is more impressive is that at the time he had more than 10 lbs on Valero. Anyways, I talked to him and asked him for tickets....I will let you know if I get any
A young and prime Beau Jack[who I saw many times],against Arron Prior...Wow,be vsure you take your heart pills vwith you fans.....
