Marcel SD...I think he is a better boxer and his slickness will minimize Juan's opportunities to counter. It would be super close though, Marquez has the class to push him all the way. Erik Morales vs Rocky Lockridge
At which weight Rock? This is a pretty even matchup especially more so at 130.:think Lockridge sometimes tended to slack off and get out hustled, like his fight with Gomez when he let him back in the fight and lost a decision to the faded Gomez(although very controversial). At Junior Lightweight i can see this going either way and wouldnt argue to hard, but id lean towards Morales he seemed to have the extra will to win, more so than Lockridge. 126 was Morales better weight , Lockridge was much faster at this weight but a little inexperienced, although he had enough to Give Pedroza all he wanted in a very close fight. Morales had his hands full with Chi and Espadas but looked back to his old self by the time he fought Barrera again and other fighters. Im gonna go with a rejuvenited Morales in a close but convincing decision. Manny Pacquiao vs Eusebio Pedroza at 126.
Wasnt really sure what weight to do it at to tell you the truth anarci..I think ill go with Featherweight though. I dont believe Rocky was a slacker per se...I just tend to think he started fast and kept going to there wasnt much left in the tank. I think this was his style..I dont think pacing was his thing and he probably lacked a bit of tactical acumen in this regard. But I reckon over 12 rounds its not going to be a huge issue. I havent seen the Gomez fight in a while, so I cant really comment with any authority but from memory Rocky was all over him for the first 2/3 but ran out of steam a little in the last 3 rounds. You have inspired me to rewatch it, Ill do that this afternoon. To be quite honest Im having a very hard time splitting them. I think people with gravitate towards Morales but I think Rocky would have given him all he could handle. My gut is actually telling me to go against the grain and pick Rocky in a hella close decision...but then again Rocky's tendency to get the rough end of the stick with decisions might come into play. In an ideal world however its really hard to pick a winner IMO.
Actually in some of his fights at JL he would start slow and come on later check out his fight with Johnny Delarosa where he even mentions in a post fight interview that he started slow on purpose and purposely throw shots slower to off set Delarosa. He then would come on faster later, maybe thats why he changed cause he was burning out in previous fights. How about Prime Ray Mercer vs David Tua? Im talking about the Mercer that fought Evander and Lewis in tight fights not the one who loss to Holmes,Ferguson.
Havent seen the De la Rosa fight anarci...Did Rocky get dropped hard early in that one though? Maybe that forced him to change tactics a bit.
No he scored an impressive knockout. Only time i ever saw Lockridge seriously hurt was when Laporte knocked him out, besides that He had a great beard. Dont remember anyone else ever dropping him.:huh PRime Mercer vs David Tua
Well I havent seen it so maybe Im getting mixed up...but Im pretty sure I read somewhere he got dropped in that one. Mercer-Tua....Id pick Ray to edge a points verdict. I think his jab will pick up more points and his iron chin will see him weather Tua's blows. Dont think anyone is getting stopped here. Kid Chocolate vs Azumah Nelson
I agree that Mercer would win this he was really looking good when he fought Lewis and Holy when both those guys were in their primes he gave these ATG all they wanted and more. i think Mercer would wins a convincing but competetive decision 97-94. Ill think Nelson comes from behind to score a late stoppage Tko 12. Andre Berto vs Pete Ranzany( about to watch his fight with SRL)
ID definitely take Pedroza he had been around for awhile by the time he fought Mcguigan, Pedroza wins a competetive but convincing decision in his prime. Diego Corrales vs Mando Ramos
Ramos' short concussive power punches get to Corrales in the mid-rounds. Off the top of my head. Both young power punching beasts, good matchup. Don't rate Corrales as highly as some do though. Khaokor Galaxy vs Orlando Canizales@118: 12 rounds
Canizales by mystery phantom punch knockout Na seriously this would be an exciting fight and it would be close early even Galaxy taking an early lead but Canizales would even things up the 10th and endup stopping Galaxy late CanizalesTko 12 or 13 CoLin Jones vs Miguel Cotto Alfonso Zamora vs Johnny Tapia 118
Don't see Khaokor getting stopped to be honest. Hard as nails and less likely to get floored as his Brother. Cotto could conceivably outbox Jones. They both are susceptible to cuts. I see Jones bombing him out in about the 10th, though Cotto points is completely feasible. Tapia too tough and good for Zamora. He'll outbox him to a wide pts decision. Bob Satterfield vs David Haye Pancho Villa vs Sung Kil Moon-at super fly (Villa fought bigger guys and was never stopped, i.e McLarnin)
