They both had glaring weaknesses that held them back, Patterson's chin and Sharkey's being a ****ing headcase. Who wins here? Does the Sharkster crack Floyds chin, or the other way around? Does Sharkey lose focus and pay the price? Maybe a meteor strikes the stadium and kills them both? Who knows? Not me, not you (and if you say you do you're a goddamn liar!) but it's fun to guess.
Sharkey on his best was as good as any Top15 hw imo. It will be a very close fight but I think Sharkey takes it because Floyd will go down one time in the fight and that will give Sharkey the edge. Something like 7-6-2 in rounds.
Floyd would take this as talented as Sharkey was I feel Floyd was even more talented probably by a competitive decision.
It would depend on which Floyd and which Sharkey showed up... the post Liston Floyd, I believe, may have beaten Jack Sharkey, who was so erratic, much like he did against Eddie Machen in '64, that is using his brilliantly fast hands to carve out a unanimous decision. If Floyd was not up to that Machen level, then Sharkey may have been able to maybe deck Floyd at some point and win a decision. I don't think a ko would have resulted, for some reasom, but I could be wrong about that.
sharkeys very good, but not this good. His style still was not as modernized as say a patterson, charles, walcott style.
It depends which Sharkey shows up. If he is having one of his periodic issues he will get destroyed. If he is actualy on the ball he might just be the betting favourite. If if if if.
