If Wilder fights uysk next, and he KOs him (don't think this will happen) what would his legacy be after the Fury trilogy
Usyk & his team aren't stupid. Won't go near Wilder. Even though on paper he's the "easiest" to outbox. For Usyk to beat Wilder though makes Fury look bad because suddenly you might be able to argue that Usyk's resume is nearer enough on Fury's level. Just missing a Wlad. It would be nice but any wealthy Americans willing to pay up? or Saudi's? Probably not.
I doubt Usyk will agree to face him. But if he does and loses, that will take some of his greatness. If he wins - big credit, for sure.
Why discuss what has no chance whatsoever of happening? Wilder sucks. He's a clubfighter who generates tremendous power with a telegraphed, fully extended right hand. Doesn't do much with his left, and has nothing in the way of footwork, headmovement, etc. Usyk literally wins every round.
He would still always and forever be Fury’s *****. Not changing that. But the odds of this scenario happening are about as high as Fury growing the nuts to give Usyk a fair share and stepping in with him. Well… actually it’s even less likely that that. Usyk embarrasses him, TKO’s him by the 6th, and Wilder is seen a few months later twerking again on video talking about how “Da Kang Will be back”
Wilder will be remembered for a long time to come for being a devastating puncher. He is the type of fighter that people will look up on YouTube to watch his highlight reel KOs. He will never be considered a great but he will be better remembered than a lot of better fighters.
It's just a hypothetical scenario like literally every single impossible scenario discussed im classic forum. I think Usyk stomps every round but just a what if
Wilder KO 8. Sneaky right hand from hell lands out of nowhere sending Usyk back to Ukraine to go work first aid, give up boxing forever
It would be a great win, few fighters in history could boast a win as good. Usyk isn't a Jimmy Ellis who was still fighting at 160 lbs at 24, or a Norton who had a proven suspect chin and defence, getting chinned (usually in 1-2) by every big puncher he ever fought. He isn't a Wlad or Lewis or Joshua. Usyk has a proven iron chin and isn't easy to hit clean, so it would be an insane KO.
I think Usyk showed he has the whiskers to take AJ's shots, he could theoretically take Wilder's. However we won't know that for sure unless they actually fight. I'd be interested in seeing it, but Wilder has to get back into contention.
I don't know of any other fight (in the heavyweight division) that would hypothetically change everything that much. Even if Wilder beat Fury in a hypothetical fourth fight it wouldn't be equal to this. It would be a real "earthquake" for the: ATG list, Wilder legacy, Usyk legacy, for the complete history of heavyweight...
